JennyWayne Posted January 16 Posted January 16 It already had the last laugh by aging much better than that Kidzbop song 3

Summerboy95 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Of course. It's her second best lead single (first one is Perfect Illusion and will soon be rediscovered by the newer generations olders too cause they didn't listen)

dejmieeen Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Don’t be delusional. It is forgotten, flopped - when you compare it not only with Gaga’s standards but also with other women singles at the time. Also the era was huge mess and affected Gaga’s career for a while. 2 1
manuelalex9810 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 The comments Poor Applause will always live under Roar’s shadow
Aethereal Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Applause deserved to underperform. Roar was a horrible mediocre song. We can't stop by Miley, especially outside of America was very underrated.
TMRA Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Yes Applause aged so well and its one of my fave Gagas singles. Roar is just a cringefest
Shimenawa Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) Applause is a good pop song and it is the opening act of the Eras tour Roar is on the level of Me!, Stupid Love and Gimme All Your Luvin' Edited January 16 by Shimenawa 1

How is it forgotten when it's doing 360k+ streams a day? That's pretty good for a song from 2013.
spree Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) I still remember the users saying iTunes was a rolling 24 hour chart and Applause was soon to catch up. Plus all the gifs, it was literally the best time on this site. of course Applause is the better song. I remember the "Pop emergency" and it was played on some random station. Good thing I had off work that day cuz it was a VERY entertaining day. Roar deserves to be Diamond tho cuz of the massive video and it's sales. Didn't Roar sell 500k first week and still debuted at #2? Edited January 17 by spree 2 1
VioletsandRoses Posted January 17 Posted January 17 It was a top 5/10 hit in every country. Just not a #1 smash like her previous lead singles. Either way, the songs streams match its performance. It should be doing these numbers. It was a 15-36-99 type song.
dumbsparce Posted January 17 Posted January 17 You have to be intelligent and campy in nature to appreciate this song. You have to be both serious and wacky to get what it's about. I'm glad the world is slowly catching up bc it's easily in the top 10 best pop songs of the century.

MadMax12 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 No it’s still a generic 2010 edm beat that had been used in other songs like Madonna’s Celebration and Girl Gone Wild . The chorus just doesn’t flow melodically, it’s just lots of words jumbled together

dawnettakins Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Well it certainly aged better than that other cringe, juvenile thing. And in the long run Gaga got the last laugh by winning the war even if Applause lost the battle.
alestevens Posted January 17 Posted January 17 It's Gaga's best song so im glad its getting its Flowers. I also hold it dearly to my heart because my fave uses it as her hype song right before going on stage every night at her tour!
