Why did it take the israelis 7hours to get to the attackers?
it seems really fishy…

inside job?

:cm:

Add to the fact that they’re indiscriminately bombing the area where the hostages were taken. It’s very clear Israel does not care about any civilians, including their own, with how they’ve handled this situation.

How are some of you dealing with Zionists/White Supremacists in the work place? My office is predominantly Zionist, and on Friday they were collecting a pot to make ‘care packages for the IDF’. I simply said I don’t support a terrorist organization, and made a donation to Anera instead.

Somehow I’m being labelled as anti Semitic because I don’t support Zionism or White Supremacy?!?!

it’s gotten really ugly. I was Jewish enough when they learned my maternal side is Jewish. However apparently I’m not ‘really Jewish’ now that I support Palestine. :skull:

The constant, relentless ads that I keep getting either asking your average Israeli to VOLUNTEER in Hasbara campaigns, asking for donations for the troops, using the 7/10 massacres against civilians in what feels like emotional-torture porn to attract sympathy etc. is something that I've never got to witness in my life. They're truly SCRAMBLING and spending the country's budget away in Hasbara and propaganda campaigns even within the country itself.

It also reminded me how the Israeli economy will be reeling after all of this. The shekel already slumped against the Euro and USD, and no way in hell will it not collapse completely in the event of a land-invasion of the  Gaza strip + H*zbollah joining the conflict in full force. That almost guarantees that the Palestinians in the West Bank will open a new front, a real one.

It's just surreal watching the supposed shining democracy of the ME, supposedly the most educated and home to one of the biggest tech hubs in the world (many of its workers were called to serve in the army btw, so a good chunk of the work force is currently absent), just insisting on ******* itself this bad. Just obsessed with genociding and ethnically cleansing Gazans to have their "parking lots/amusement parks/Jewish settlements" built on top of the rubble. Rekindling the flames of hatred against them in the region for the sake of seeking revenge against civilians. Souring public opinion in the region so much that even the dictatorial governments in the region are now viewing you as spreader of chaos and instability, with even peace talks/coordination under the table becoming much more difficult if not outright impossible (especially with would-be-new countries to the Abraham Accords).

Just embarrassing for them.

Again, this is an essentialist argument because you have no issue grouping together nations based on being Muslim even when the nations you're hoping to group together aren't similar besides "being Muslim". You view religiosity as a destiny - that Muslims will inevitably be homophobic. That a Muslim nation can never itself open up to reform, yet there is no consistency within the "Muslim world".  That is the premise for your argument.

Even when ignoring the different sects of Islam, are all Muslims the same? Are Lebanese Muslims the same as Saudi Muslims? Are Syrian Muslims the same as Kazakh Muslims? Are Turkish Muslims the same as Chadian Muslims? Are Palestinian Muslims the same as Egyptian Muslims? The idea these groups can be simply folded into one another is why the West is demanding Egypt participate in the ethnic cleansing of Gaza. If you agree culture is mendable, why group nations with little shared culture or history?

what the **** are you talking about :deadbanana4: the mental gymnastics of it all. you can absolutely draw plenty similarities and group countries by religion that has had insurmountable impact on the culture of these countries for over a THOUSAND years. no one is saying that their cultures or their populations or their history are the exact same.

This is totally normal behavior.

The issue of homophobia in Islam has literally nothing to do with this thread.

Especially since these users always seem to forget about the existence of Palestinian Christians.

*drawing similarities between countries* =/= the weird and unfounded declaration that "Saudis are very religious yet have never been occupied or bombed so I think then we can group every Muslim country with the Saudis and say it's a cop out to try and contextualize how the West helped religiousness often win over secularism in other specific nations' history!"

The irony being you posting this from POLAND, a country with NO GO ZONES FOR LGBT PEOPLE. :biblionana:

Is Poland just an inherently homophobic country? Is bigotry just innate to the Polish people and their DNA? Or is the defense then that a series of political and historical events cause the conditions that then help the right-wing - and thus social conservatism - sweep into power and homophobia becomes the norm? I can't imagine the idea of people in right-wing governments in the West co-signing the idea that Palestine being perceived as right-wing justifies ethnic cleansing. Can bombs then be dropped on Poland? Will bombs be dropped on the next Republican National Convention in America?

The belief that perceived homophobia or misogyny within Palestine justifies the ethnic cleansing of it is not a serious conversation.

These two images have been stuck in my head all day and I feel so sick to my stomach so imagine this being your reality :(( People really have the nerve to expect these children who are born/raised in camps under brutal occupation and subjected to recurring massacres to grow up and not be full of hatred and rage, to not fight back, and to be kind to settlers. And they are labeled as terrorists when they continue to resist and fight for their freedom and human rights. I hope these images haunt them forever

Spoiler

If you can stomach it, check out @motaz_azaiza @hani.aburezeq and @ismail.jood's IG stories. Really devastating scenes

I’m sorry, is the assumption that only white people dislike Islam as a religion? :deadbanana4:

That seems to be the implication with “so strange you’d dislike a religion practiced by majority non-whites” as if there’s not many people who ALSO dislike Christianity/Catholicism. Many people don’t like religions (especially ones known to preach a strong hatred toward certain groups).

If the problem was with disliking religion why would we even be talking about it here? What's the correlation with Israel's genocide? You're trying to deflect so much you completely lost the plot.

If you dislike all religions then that's absolutely fine. Who cares? Nobody was talking about that. The problem is if you single out Islam. What's so hard to understand about that? Or are you just a contrarian for the sake of arguing with everyone?

Netanyahu is FINISHED! His own country wants nothing to do with him and his far-right policies. The biggest clown once his power ends, which is why he is gonna push this war as long as possible. Until the West gets a spine and says enough is enough.

Thanks for mentioning this. I'm not sure how they see the killing of Christians at Saint Porphyrius Orthodox Church in Gaza fitting into the fight against Hamas. The same Christian people that mourned the damage of the Notre-Dame cathedral due to fire, seem to be rather quiet when a much older Christian church, built AD 425 is attacked with the people inside.

Israel social media is a disaster

Another question I’d like answered. They keep saying Hamas is using Palestinians as shields. So they bomb buildings because they think Hamas is somewhere in there. If there is only 1 or 2 Hamas, they still bomb and kill loads. How can they justify this.
