Newsflash they don't want our support, they would rather die than see a queen waving a Palestinian flag :rip:

I just posted a thread about a protestor waving a Pride flag facing harassment. Surprisingly, it got taken down right away, lol. Someone asked, "Why bring this up now?" Here are two things to consider: 1. Shouldn't we address harassment in spaces where queer people are directed to protest? 2. This is the third instance of online harassment against queer individuals during these protests that I've come across. I'm sharing it now because it has escalated to physical harassment.

Queer people supporting Palestine have every right to do so. However, actively suppressing and censoring reports of harassment against queer people at pro-Palestine protests on a site that is MOSTLY USED BY queer people is problematic, and potentially even dangerous.

As much as both sides would like to deny, there are people living at the intersection of both identities and falling for this antipathy is exactly what the alt right wants and why they suddenly start caring about LGBTQ issues when they can use them to be racist. As always sending my love the way of queer Palestinians and recognizing the invalidation they face from both sides of their identities.

On a serious note, get tested looks like you’re experiencing the second verified case of worms for brains:

Yara is absolutely brilliant. The amount of strength it takes to continue to report 24/7 without having any time to process or grieve the loss of their families and loved ones :sad:

Quoting an infamous right-wing rage baiter, racist, and transphobe on a community for queer people is not the serve you think it is.

TBH, I did expect strawmanning instead of an adequate response, so I'm not shocked by this reply. I now realize this site isn't the place to have a sensible conversation about this without deflections and vexation.

Vexation :bibliahh: you came in all high and mighty claiming to be concerned about the sanctity of queer spaces while in the same breath quoting a dangerous vocal queerphobe. It’s not a straw man when the soul of your argument is supported by feigned concern for protecting the queer community and the content shared to them here :deadbanana4:

Me saying LGBT ppl with "conservative viewpoints about our their own community" matter just as much as their progressive counterpart and that antagonizing them only further endangers them

So you:

  1. Think conservative white LGBTQ people deserve "nuance" when they're being racist;
  2. Disagree with the notion that conservatism targeting LGBTQ people undermines the existence of LGBTQ conservatives;
  3. Use the example of a conservative Muslim at a pro-Palestine protest to mock queer people supporting Palestine against apartheid
    • explicitly because you think such exemplifies "irony" that DOES undermine the support that Palestine deserves? So you don't actually want nuance?

You've still not answered my question - why do you seem unfazed by 4,000+ people being killed within this last week because an old ass book tells people of a certain extremist belief system like Zionism that their sacred homeland is in the Levant and they must smite everyone who keeps their people from returning there?

Anyone who has ever made a fuss on here over "Islamic extremism" lowkey has lost any credibility by remaining silent to religious war crimes committed by Israel.

I hope you know that when your only interactions on here is upvoting Zionist users and then *that* post of all posts you could make.

Not sure I should have expected informed geopolitical takes from someone who stans Youtube white supremacists!

I hope you realize that you making thousands upon thousands of posts screaming about Islamic extremism and scary refugees flooding Europe while being silent on Israel committing war crimes has completely ruined any credibility you have had or will ever have as being concerned about religious extremist thought, especially when Israel has now killed, within the span of a little over a week, more Palestinians than the total number of Europeans killed by Islamic terror attacks over the last 25+ years.

Some of you don't hate religious extremism. You hate a very specific type of person and your glee at Israel's genocide on Palestinians shows that. You are deeply unserious and deserve to not know peace when ever trying to wade into conversations you're out of your depth on.

There were 100000s of protestors in London from different backgrounds. Unfortunately, with any large movement there will be people who use it to express their own agendas. Those individuals should be criticised but it shouldn't define the whole movement.

When I went to a pro-Palestine demonstration last week, which had 10000s of demonstrators, there were multiple Queers for Palestine signs and speakers publically said how islamophobia, homophobia and anti-semitism were not welcome (to large applause). This is an anti-racism movement to speak out against apartheid, genocide and colonialism.

This part is worth repeating. In one forum, the far right will use LGBTQ rights to attack Muslims and defend ethnic cleansing. Then in another forum they will post about drag queens being a danger to children and calling trans people a threat to women. Then in another forum, they might be promoting anti-Semitism.

People need to be careful about which social media they quote on here, as some people shouldn't be promoted, even if they did make some points.

I am still waiting for the pro-Israel users to explain this. Why is the West Bank being bombed if Israel only wants to "destroy Hamas". It is Hamas-free so WHY are people there being bombed and attacked? None of them has answered this question :)

Anyone who is still in denial that Israel’s ultimate goal is to wipe all Palestinians off the map is either extremely naïve or extremely aware of what is going on and turning a blind eye.

Like I’m literally so tired of irls who are extremely uneducated on this matter saying ‘we need peace’ ‘they just need to talk with each other’ :deadbanana2: mind you, it was Israel in the 2013-2014 peace negotiations that refused any sort of action against ILLEGAL settlements. They don’t care about peace or Palestinian lives. All they care about is territorial expansion

Thank you for sharing more of her speech. I would love some users on here who constantly defend Israel to answer the question Ilhan posed to journalists yesterday and her AIPAC-funded peers:
