It may be that Israel is responsible for last night's horrendous atrocity but that is not clear as of this moment. Thus my encouragement of restraint to members in the thread jumping to conclusions in either direction Regardless again I will restate my desire to see a ceasefire and an end to Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine 3 1

The UN’s agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, said on Tuesday that Gaza’s last seawater desalination plant had shut down, bringing the risk of further deaths and waterborne diseases such as cholera and dysentery. Six water wells, three water pumping stations and one water reservoir – which collectively served more than 1.1million people – are also out of action, it said. [...] Access to at least 50 litres of water per person per day is the minimum level set by the World Health Organization. Most people in Gaza are now believed to be surviving on three, the UN says. Expand I mean, part of Zionist propaganda has always been that the world's Jewish community needed an ethno state to be safe...but that's clearly not working. The average Jewish person is safer is any major world city than within the borders of Israel. Declaring the existance of a Jewish homeland that required mass expulsion and displacement of native people was always going to result in this. Do African Americans still have settler rights to Liberia? No. Would the EU be open to balkanizing parts of Europe to create new states for enclaves of non-white communities? No. The UK has one of the world's largest Kurdish populations. Are they offering to create a Kurdistan on their land? And these were all criticisms by Jewish scholars to the ideas of Zionism since it's start. Why Birobidzhan failed as a Jewish state. Why projects failed in Uganda and Argentina. Very unique and destructive events had to occur for a pathway for allowed mass migration to Palestine and the displacement it would cause and thus very destructive events will have to continue happening to maintain the status quo. Imagine the world reaction if China bombed a mosque. Imagine how Biden would react if Beijing bombed a hospital in Xinjiang. Now compare it to the celebrations and defense provided when Israel does so and it is considered just how things have to be. Someone linking to that ASPI guy particularly exposed this contradiction. People who spent the last 3 years studying blurry footage of Uyghur tomato farmers in Xinjiang and taking rightful (!) criticisms over the excesses of the Chinese security state to make an argument of cultural genocide, which have their own merits, now are arguing that the HD images coming out of Palestine with hundreds and now thousands of people indiscriminately being killed somehow does not constitute literal genocide or ethnic cleansing. It is a moral failure of the Western world. If the US can speak out when our enemies commit cultural erasure, how then does it justify its silence when our allies are caught in the act of mass death and bombing?
