I think the only actual outcome that would legitimately scare me in this whole Trump vs Biden thing is Trump appointing more Supreme Justices.

Trump is not better at foreign policy than Biden, he's just more chaotic. He's unpredictable and doesn't listen to reason, and he has bent the Republican party to a degree that doesn't allow dissent. So whatever cuckoo idea he has will be followed through. I know he's fallen from grace but John Mulaney's portrayal as Trump as a horse loose in a hospital is still spot on.

He could be better than Biden by broken clock rule. He could be much worse. It's all hypothetical.

In terms of domestic policies... I mean, Biden is less of a loose cannon, for sure, there are some policies that are... good? But he's very limited in what he can do by virtue of every state being able to self determine A LOT of their laws, so with a very conservative Legislative Power + filibusters I can't say that he can do A LOT better than Trump. Just... less worse.

I would never vote for Trump, no matter the circumstances. But I can't say I'd judge people who would simply just not vote Biden. I think they should definitely vote for an independent candidate rather than not participating in the elections, tho

I've been following the thread passively after having popped in now and then in its earlier stage because honestly, it's just maddening the way in which we've let this continue for years.

I was at a protest yesterday for around three hours or so, and though the turnout was massive and made me "hopeful" (whatever that word even means in times like these), there was this pang of pain that I think several other people felt as well about the lack of power we have as literally thousands of kids continue to perish. I don't know how this ends, and I know this is one day going to "end" like Rhodesia did, but boy oh boy when we look back at this...

And I hope - or honestly, I KNOW - some of you will feel ashamed for uplifting a genocidal regime that is just as comfortable flattening its own civilians and hostages as it is innocent children. Good luck dealing with that emotional burden.

Free Palestine.

Because ATRL uses Google Ads to monetize the forum. Google Ads uses various algorithms to determine which ads you see. If you have been viewing stories on the Israel-Hamas War, you'll get ads related to that. Since Israel and its supporters are well financed, it will most likely be a pro-Israel ad.

Bella calling Oct 7th a terrorist attack like it was :clap3:

Her acknowledging no Israeli civilian deaths (especially innocent women and children) are justified no matter Israel’s governments actions :clap3:

She can do all of that while still being pro-Palestinian and educating on how long this issue has been going on and the severity of it :clap3:

Nobody claimed that the deaths of Israeli civilians are justified in any way or shape but what was said was that Israel is partially to blame for the Oct 7th attack for inciting indirectly this terrorist organization due to their constant oppression of Palestinians. And even if you believe that the Israel has nothing to blame for the existence of Hamas you can at least blame it's government for not blocking this attack like it usually does or for paying little consideration for the current hostages. (Even most Israeli people agree with the latter.)

The lesser of two evils is still evil is a bad motto when it comes to US election. Had Hillary won the 2016 election, abortion would not be illegalized. Not voting for a Democrat is not going to stop what's going on Gaza but it will make things worse. But I agree that Biden should step down if wants Democrats to have a chance at winning.

The first sentence of the post you're quoting says that what I fear the most about Trump is him appointing Supreme Justices and you're using abortion to come at me :rip:

Also, I'm literally a woman who this abortion issue actually affects, not to sound presumptuous but if you fit the demographic of this sub, you're most likely a gay man. So why are you preaching to a woman about abortion?

I was just pointing a random example out of many. :rip:

Staying out of elections is not going to solve anything. Most Americans support Israel in the polls anyways.

The fact that you thought you had a compelling argument talking about abortion shows that you didn't comprehend what I said.

Hmm, doesn't sound credible to me! Why? Because Joe Biden said so and he clearly has no agenda to make Israel's fire-bombing campaign to look less bad than it is! :michael:
