Strawberry Bubble Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) Considering TS11's potential, it seems almost guaranteed to be a success. Do you think Taylor is "too big to fail", or do you believe there's any chance her next album might flop? Edited January 7 by Sebastián Muñoz
ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted January 7 ATRL Moderator Posted January 7 Nobody is too big to fall. 1 6
Klein Posted January 7 Posted January 7 She's not too big to fail (this doesn't exist) and she's obviously going to experience a decline from there. She's set for a massive debut no matter what for TS11, but if people don't like the music then she'll start declining.
byzantium Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Yes, obviously a flop from Taylor would start the world’s greatest economic collapse.
Gorjesspazze9 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 They said the same thing about MJ and Madonna in the 80’s and then they both had sex scandals/ Erotica eras. A controversy is the only thing that will probably stall her. But at this rate musically she is solidified for the next decade at least
Devin Posted January 7 Posted January 7 the music industry has proved no matter how BIG u are u can still flop now or one day.
Rebecca Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Nope. That’s what everyone thought about Gaga in 2010/early 2011 too. Taylor needs to be careful with how overexposed she is becoming. Overexposure leads to resentment. Nothing, absolutely nothing, is ever too big to fail. Use the Titanic as another example. 2
KatyPrismSpirit Posted January 7 Posted January 7 if she releases music that is not good then yes, but that chance is pretty low. i hope TS11 isn't some mass-produced pop slob and is the same quality of folklore, midnights. 1
Wasp Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Her next Era will be akin to Adele's 25. 3m+ first week, but overall decline from previous album, then she will "flop" with something like 30 1
MidnightsAtPeace Posted January 7 Posted January 7 No, but I must say that unlike many of the other artists right now, Taylor has an enormous fanbase that will support her through thick and thin, so her sales and streams are good for another decade. But a controversy can lead to her losing the respect she has among general public so quickly. 3
Saintlor Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I can't see a Taylor album performing worse than Lover for the next 15 years (and Lover was still a success)
Gelato Posted January 7 Posted January 7 The music industry is ageist and sexist, so turning 35 this year could be a problem. 1
EndofASadMovie Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I remember when swifties thought Taylor was never going to stop getting hits in 2015-2016 5
Katamari Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) Idk about radio but her fans will keep her debuting atop album charts well into her 70s like Bruce’s Edited January 7 by Katamari
Technicolor Posted January 7 Posted January 7 She might decline commercially eventually but will remain with a loyal fanbase 1
littlebodybigheart Posted January 7 Posted January 7 she will decline, but she’s so big that even when she declines she’s still going to be on par with everyone else. just not blowing them out of the water. for example, lover back in 2019.

Solaria Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I don't see her ever truly declining or flopping but I think her career would rather get more... stale at some point. Meaning that her catalogue will always have a lot of streams but her new releases wont eventually be these massive ubiquitous releases anymore like Midnights. I don't see her having another 2023 for example 1
West Coast Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Yes she reached the final level and can’t flop no matter what anymore

I don't see her having another 2023 for example Adding on to this: I think the rerecordings + TS11/TS12 will have her catalogue streams set for atleast till the end of the decade. If she keeps releasing albums every 2 years after the rerecordings I don't see her ever being knocked from her No.1 spot on streaming because it would be too many releases to ever catch up. But eventually her albums will stop pulling 1M first week and they won't be constant big successes like Midnights, rather just stable 1
