Britney: I will NEVER return to the music industry

Recommended Posts

I’m seeing a lot of hopium online from my fellow Britney stans and y’all… it’s time to face the facts. Britney is most likely never gonna release another album, let alone step on stage again. If we’re lucky we’ll get some more features from her, but I really feel like Britney is done with her career.

I understand that she’s traumatised by everything that happened but if she cared about music she’d do an album, now that she’s free, unveil the real artist in you, not the insta videos (which I like btw)

u never know, she said the same thing in 2021 and she released HMC.

She literally said the only reason she did HMC was because it was Elton asking. Will.I.Am already told us that she only agreed on that song because she didn’t have to do anything. The most I see now is a Madonna, Cher or Bey collab at some point.

Her saying she's never returning to the industry doesn't necessarily mean she's never making music again, there is some disparity between the two.

I definitely understand why she would want to leave it all behind after everything that has happened to her, but maybe she still just needs time to heal and will change her mind. A stan can only hope :stare:

It's understandable and I'm just glad she's happy and doing what she wants to do.

I kind of agree with her, we can’t consider MYB as music, noise if anything.

I love her so much and I’m happy she is in a better place now, she doesn’t have to return making music, she already feed us with 8 good albums.

She’s going to do whatever she wants to do whenever she wants to do it. Today she may feel like never releasing again, but you never know where her head space will be a few years from now. She’s also been shopping for beats.

I'm not sure that she has been doing that. Honestly, it kinda seems like her team has been constantly trying to source songs that she might like to tempt her back into recording, but it just seems like her heart clearly isn't in it. This has been going on for a while, as far back as over a year ago we heard that Stargate and Benny Blanco were writing songs for her and that Padam Padam had been pitched to her. Who knows if one day she might change her mind, but if she really wanted to be making music she would be.

Sad but kinda expected

i just hope she enjoys her life going forward. If we’re lucky enough to get any kind of show/performance eventually that would be great

Britney says "I'm done" and the 3 pathetic Xtinctor stans left flock on this thread to leave more replies than the stans themselves. I thought you had a massively acclaimed and successful residency to keep you busy. What happened?

As someone who has been a stan since 2000, is there any reason to stan for Britney anymore if shes not releasing new music?

Oh so she's the one responsible for Single Soon

The way she sneaks some promo for the book hahaha

I don’t know, I think she will release music later but maybe just singles and another GH with one or two new songs but there’s that.

I don't blame her.  The media would constantly compare her to her old self in the early 2000's, as would this site, so it's a lose-lose for her.  I mean...look at how much of a meme she turned out to be with those knifes.  People just don't like aging female pop stars and she would be scrutinized left and right, I feel.  Maybe I'm wrong, but i don't blame her if that's part of the reason she doesn't want to come back.  She never really reinvented herself as she got older, so she's always going to be "Britney Spears - the hot pin-up girl with the dance moves" and if she isn't feeling that, then I wouldn't even try.  She's right, the news media is awful.

She's in her acclaimed, #1 NYT Bestsellers List auteur era! The book just came out a couple months ago.  :fish2:

Can y'all let her COOK. DAMN! :lakitu:

well, I miss her sound. Maybe she will come back in ten years or something

I'm not surprised she said this. Of course, I wouldn't mind a new album from Britney but I don't really expect it to materialize as I've been thinking she quietly retired years ago. She's been seemingly quite done ever since she quit Vegas and then fought to get out of the c-ship. Not to mention, 'Glory' has a sense of finality to it ("can we do it all again? Nah, I'll take a bow"). She's just finally confirmed it. She might do droplets/features here and there but Britney Spears, the pop superstar, brand and machine is pretty much over.

Seems pretty obvious her team is going behind her back asking songwriters to do some stuff for her in the hopes she'll change her mind one day. Seems kinda shady.

At least Glory is her last album and not Myah Jean.

I'm okay with that. :clap3:
