I won't begrudge Lily Jay for hating her - even if, for example, it was largely Ethan's fault and he implied to Ariana they were already separating before they actually did, like of course the ex-wife is going to hate whoever he is with next and reasonably so. But some of y'all are not Ms. Lily Jay, and are just looking for a nail to hit since all you have to use against Ariana is a hammer.

She is Ariana grande she could’ve easily get any man she wanted and divrced husband  if she wasn’t happy but she made a deliberate choice to go after a married man. I think it wouldn’t be that bad if this was the first time she did this homewrecker thing but she had made this several times and that behavior speaks a lot of the kind of person she is and it’s just sad because she’s very talented and sometimes I feel her private life outshines her career with all the drama that her love life has surrounded since the very start of her career.

I mean, this is what the details allude to and what most people accuse the situation of being, aka why you see people making the argument that not physically cheating doesn't matter because "they were still emotionally cheating". The main issue being the online reaction is largely coordinated and over-exaggerated. It's one thing for her to get her ponytail tugged on a little, even if just as karma for how skeezy BUWYGIB is as a song (I say as a stan!). 

 

But the emotions this drives out of people 6 months later are over-sized for what amounts to a largely obscure theatre performer, his private non-famous ex-wife, and Ariana who has largely stayed silent out of respect for the familial drama she has essentially been sucked into. Plenty of pop girls have cheated on their significant others. Plenty of pop girls have had messy personal lives and dating histories. The hyper-fixation some have is.. whatever, but clearly driven by something else given how often it bleeds into other gross comments about her body that she's had to get online and address as upsetting.

I really hope she just keeps her mouth shut about this until the album is released. Cause firstly, Ariana no one is gonna take your side with this. If you hated being this “misunderstood” in regards to this whole relationship drama, you would’ve cleared the air or did SOMETHING to alleviate the stress for yourself during the height of the controversy.
 

Secondly, it’s apparent that most of if not everyone really left it in the past and just wants the music. No need to bring it up again imo, just make bops baby girl! That’s it!

I’m not gonna sit here and try to defend some of her actions or his for that matter. Of course we don’t know the full story but this seems pretty cut and dry.

 

However, I feel like the last couple years, and especially now with regard to how celebrities handle recent political issues, have demonstrated the enormous stupidity and self-importance many artists possess. I’m not saying Ari is one of them necessarily, just that it wouldn’t surprise me if a lot, maybe even the vast majority, of our favs are horrible people or at least make questionable decisions. I guess my point there is just that, at the end of the day, we really don’t know the singers or actors whose work we consume. 

 

Now Ari, you know I’ll be listening whenever the album drops but if you’re going to address it address it cause a statement like this isn’t moving anyone.
