Is Madonna really bigger than Taylor and Mariah?

her legacy of what? Making fluff albums like Midnights?

You and I both know you have zero interest in approaching this conversation in good faith and for that reason alone I will not elaborate on her legacy any further! Feel free to read the wiki page if you’re genuinely curious but we all know that’s not the case and never has been with you and any conversation about Taylor

Some yalls faves can’t even get people to stream their original material - you think anyone would tune in for a re-release? :deadbanana:

the re-releases are not the drag you think they are. They continue to ignite interest in her entire catalog and that is then reflected in her consumption units

Don't get mad at me to state the fact. :santa::tsk:

Maybe Re-releases on so many multiple versions and dumping discounts of remixes for inflated chart stats . And making disposable and quickly produced forgettable songs soon to exit from charts?

:tsk::santa:

I was on the Daily Mail and reading the comments about her surpassing Elvis record and nobody took it seriously, there was like 2 or 3 positive comments and those were from her fans. They felt the same way about her music and notice that streaming and the industry itself is at a low point. They all said the same thing that she could never be on his level despite all the records she breaking, it wasn't just about numbers and past artist shouldn't be compared to the new ones.

Streaming includes streaming farms and can be paid for and manipulated, lets not forget autoplay and fake streams not being able to be filtered. It's safe to say that most artist streams are much less than what's being reported, more so the current/new acts because there is more invested into them.

Yes. So easy for them to inflate and manipulate in their favors.

Playlisting is a new payola. Free music wasn't enough, and now they are allowed to inflate and manipulate.

They will never be the same as the older legends.

Is it the fair game??.

For old days and under older rules, legends were allowed to chart only one or two proper singles on the Hot 100 chart.

But now they are allowed to chart every single track at the same time in the charts. Even if they're  free streaming or playlisted like a payola or discounted as hell.

And they mix old artists' records and inflated to death current ones for all time records ranking .

How rubbish and nonsense.

The charts became more of a mess and joke than ever before.

So to clear up some things:

Taylor’s least successful re-recorded album is by far more successful than any other re-recorded album in music history. Insinuating that her re-recorded albums are wrongly inflating her consumption is a complete misunderstanding of what they are and why they’re successful. Other artists could simply not do this.

Taylor just had a song chart for a year (Anti-Hero) and Cruel Summer could chart even longer; in terms of whole albums, her longevity is the best in the entire industry. Shade over a few 2020 singles not charting that long is old and stale.

Daily Mail comments are probably not a reliable indicator of what the average person thinks.

”Fake” streams usually can be, and often are, detected and filtered out by major companies like Spotify.

Streams are almost never free, as ad-supported streams are paid for by said ads.

Youtube says hi.

Streaming is free.

Never go out and buy something. No effort whatsoever.

Lazy and cheap as hell.

Just rental music listening at home on a repeat.

That's all.

And pay to the flat form to be playlisted for massive streaming.

Again another form of  a payola.

Buying something to listen to is never the same to streaming rubbish.

Sorry .

Old legends are legends.

They will never be the same.

well the OP claimed that Mariah is bigger than Madonna and I just thought it was funny how bulk of Mariah's streams is just her one Xmas song that is literally a non-factor barely a week after Christmas.

If you want to we can use the pure sales charts instead of the BB200 to compare :santa:

Like I said, current ones are allowed to chart every track released to inflate and manipulate the stats for free streaming, not like old days.

You can chop up the BB200 in any way imaginable to fit whatever criteria you want and Taylor would still be outselling every other act in existence today :santa: and it wouldn’t be close either

Without Christmas, AIWFCIY as a single song with no holiday in support registers 15 million streams up until September, and over 20 million up until October.

That alone would rank it ahead of a lot of so-called "real" hit songs for both Madonna and Mariah.

Madonna is literally currently on a high due to her new music from 2023.

Popular is about to become her biggest song on streaming ever.

I personally do not believe that Popular is Madonna's biggest song ever. I hope you agree.

I - for one - would never argue that Big Energy Remix has been bigger than Music.

it's not Madonna's fault that she can book big collabs and have hits in 2023 and Mariah can't
