KY loves themselves a Democrat governor. Beshear is very popular so this idea that Cameron suddenly made up over a dozen points in the last month seems fishy to me. It seems like a last-minute attempt to drum up some election attention, and it worked with everyone jumping on that one poll. :rip: I do not know what to fully expect, but I think Beshear might pull it out. It will be close even though Cameron is objectively a bad choice.

There is no way Ohioans do not come out for this abortion issue considering they came out for that special election. I will be really, really shocked if that fails. I am curious if the GOP in OH try to do anything if it does pass. They refused to create new maps... what happens if they refuse to abide by this?

People thinking Palestine will have an effect on this stuff are being silly. Majority of state/local voters do not even know what is going on overseas, nor do they care. Additionally, not voting in a state or local election because of international affairs is downright so damn stupid. Your governor has nothing to do with foreign affairs, unless, of course, they pull off some PR stunt and fly to Israel to "show support" :toofunny2:. You should always vote in your state and local elections because they are your last defense against stupid federal politicians who do not care about you. It is much, much easier to hold local leaders accountable than it is to hold those in DC accountable.

Dems have been performing quite well since 2020 so it will be shocking if they are suddenly shafted. If anything, it will just mean the abortion news has died down and people are now focusing on the economy and what they have been told. But of course progressives will swear it is about Palestine which just makes no sense. There will be plenty to blame on the Biden admin's horrible response to Palestine's genocide next year. These state races have nothing to do with it.

Pretty much. +1

This is good to hear. I am working until 5:30 so I will check in when I can throughout the work day as possible. Most of the fun begins after then anyway. Ready to see the after work numbers. Got all my family to vote yes on both issues and they went this morning if they didn't already vote early!

I am in Cuyahoga and while I don't know how my coworkers will be voting for an election they are definitely actually amped to vote after work or have before work ha. I hope that translates more across the whole state in addition to my own county

We have our first GOP trifecta projection:

Again, Ohio

@Bears01 GOP trifecta wouldn’t surprise me. The margins are way too tight. :coffee2:

Yeah, SD31 is concerning in that analysis. What’s encouraging is that tweet you just posted and this:

College students will essentially save democrats if they collapse in NOVA

More mixed data, this is a district republicans were easily expected to hold…

Beshear has done great things for Kentucky so he’ll definitely lose today. Kentuckians, outside of Louisville and Lexington, always vote against their best interest. Plus he closed down churches during the pandemic so that sealed the deal for the cultist.

I genuinely believe that Ohio will vote yes on ballot 1 to codify abortion rights but I’m not sure about marijuana legalization, fingers crossed.

Idk about Mississippi, I know the current governor is viewed as unfavorable, but religion and racism runs deep there. Would be incredible to have democratic governor back in the Deep South tho. But Reeves will probably win.

Exciting day for these states!

Issue 2 (Marijuana) will pass in Ohio. The real question is what will the Republican supermajority lunatics do with it once it passes. The president of the senate has already said he thinks this will cause more teen suicides (?) and wants to rewrite a lot of it. He hasn't ruled out completely repealing it either :toofunny3:

I think its going to pass by 8-10 points so if they gut this thing or repeal it, there will be real political fallout

The Virginia house discussion on Twitter is so funny. There are so many wildly different takes on so much different information ranging from panic to overly comfortable 💀 Even though Ohio is most personal to me living here I feel issue 1 and issue 2 aren’t really going to be all that surprising. Virginia will be more interesting to watch

Virginia isn’t looking to bad for the dems thus far other Hedrico county officials are reporting massive turnout as well as Williamsburg. Virginia Beach was looking iffy but I haven’t looked since about 3 or 4.

That is good to hear. I did see people being pretty optimistic mostly based on numbers but I am not very familiar with Virginia at such local levels like others may be. I am being cautiously optimistic
