Bethenny Frankel Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 taylor overshadowed and guts is very similar to sour, bad idea right is cute though
DoubleRainbow! Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Americans are too busy streaming Taylor to notice the existence of any other female artist 1
applestar Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 She should have pushed pretty isn't pretty. I have GP taste, her picks were awful Drop Dan, drop the punk, drop the indie, and make a good song
adylovestaylorandjb Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Olivia Asian narrative makes no sense when she is fully white passing . Only her fans believe she is actual Asian passing visual wise. Rofl 5 2 2
Galah Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 The Billie stans getting brave as if Happier Than Ever wasn't more of an underperformance all the while having more singles than SOUR and GUTS combined. At least Olivia got a #1 out of her so-called "sophomore slump" era. The album is also a huge quality upgrade from SOUR's more juvenile themes, so I am looking forward to seeing where she goes next. SOUR had debut hype. You can't recreate that on a second album.
enchanted0 Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 TIA + HTE are def bigger than vampire, bir? and ghb combined 6 2

FreeXone Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Industry plant didn’t have enough roots. goodbye please…the way she sings in cursive annoys me 1 1 1 1

Their bases overlapped a lot and this recent drama really contributed to Olivia's underperformance. 1
wish Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Hm looks like she can't launch a single without a major rollout either 1
KeshaSwift Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Not exactly the music the gp wanted from her. She still big though
liquiddiamonds Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 She still had the biggest first week this year sans Taylor for a female and her album is already platinum eligible. I understand the underperformance criticism, but calling a slump is quite ridiculous, because she’s still doing better than every girl her gen along with Billie… if Olivia is a flop what that makes of them? Same forum says Sabrina is on the verge of a breakthrough and this Hunger Games leftover did bigger numbers than Feather ever did HTE title track will end up bigger than anything from GUTS because it’s a Billie classic that had unfortunate timing and radio support, but Vampire is definitely bigger than Therefore I Am BFR. It’s past 500 million streams, still charting on Spotify and it will close the gap in a few months with the tour. But GUTS is never going to see multi-billion streams smashes like SOUR did and it’s okay. Many artists peak commercially with their debut and continue to do their own thing later on. She has strong industry support and will have other chances, but I think she will be ditching pop rock from now on 1
byzantium Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 Some of your are so excited to see Olivia underperform that you just completely ignore facts. 2 3

unclefloprry Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 releasing a SOUR 2.0... is a bad idea, right? Stop using Taylor for clout... it's a bad idea, right? 1 1 1

The Man Who Posted November 6, 2023 Posted November 6, 2023 Just because it isn’t performing as well as SOUR did doesn’t mean it flopped. Some of you guys really just type anything! How is debuting with 302K in the US and 60K in the UK a flop?

I can't wait to see if Olivia can perform in +30k venues in Asia or Latin America... places outside her comfort zone.

But let's not kid ourselves into thinking Olivia could have sold out two WEMBLEYs in her debut year, which is why she is not even attempting it once for the GUTS tour Edited November 6, 2023 by Klein 1
