Dua and Billie are the only new MPGs that will stay. Doja is just too much of an awful person. It will beckfire hugely sooner or later.

Olive is way too safe. She is destined to be another Avril.

The GP didn’t want a sour 2.0 I fear

SOUR is a modern classic, she was never going to replicate that kind of success.

Ouu now Gaga’s old ass catching strays? I’m glad you recognize me, let’s talk about how both Gaga and Olivia achieved eras with multiple international smash hit singles. I feel like this is an achievement only main girls get!

:suburban:

Eras for Olivia? She only has one era that was successful in North America and Europe. Don't compare your global fave Gaga to a local fad like Olivia.

leave her aloooone she was never gonna be able to repeat much of what SOUR did. GUTS has done overall well and if she starts promoting the other songs in unique ways at least radio will start to catch. get him back deserves #1

GUTS has outsold HTE week for week in all of the respective albums’ first 7 weeks though :deadbanana2: the only reason Olivia is charting lower is stronger competition right now (2 Morgan Waller albums and 3+ Taylor albums taking up permanent residence in the top 10)

So if the single carrying the album was bigger, as you say, that’s even worse for Billie

Please explain what that has to do with my simple comment rebutting the claim that every single from GUTS is bigger than any song from HTE? I never suggested anything regarding their album sales.

There’s basically no hit song carrying the album, Vampire is done and honestly the rollout for the album was messy.

Pesonally I think it's the lack of promo and active single. They shouldve went way harder on GHB or BIR

She’s still currently the highest charting Gen Z artist.

well the thing is Avril is iconic and has inspired many current pop stars (such as Billie), we don’t know yet if Olivia will be able to leave some kind of impact

the new girls seem to struggle to stick around it seems

Agree with Doja.

I wouldn't count Olivia out so fast though. She still has a lot of potential.  I do think Dua and Billie have more cross-generational appeal though.

It's a song from a Billion dollar Barbie movie. Even Ryan Gosling got a hit out of a Barbie movie soundtrack :deadbanana4:

So now that it’s a global smash hit that ended up bigger than vampire it’s the “billion dollar movie” excuse even though it was organically gaining streams daily before the movie even came out. Which is why you were in hiding I presume.

Hope you have this same energy for Olivia’s new soundtrack single from the $3B+ grossing Hunger Games franchise

No real evolution.

It underperformed big time. No one is saying she should have sour sales. But she is streaming gen girl who is getting outsold by previous gen artists. It is flop album. No wonder she is teasing deluxe.

Her audience is busy streaming 1989 TV :giraffe:

But I must say that she snapped with some tracks from that album, "Love is embarrassing" slays, and GHB and BIR should be smashes.

Billie's second album also underperformed but at least it got a legit sleeper smash with HTE (song). I don't see any songs giving longevity except maybe Vampire.

It was all planned from the start. It happened because they wanted you to make this thread.

God wanted you to make this thread.

In the history books it was already written & decided that GUTS will be out of the top 10 after 7 weeks while SOUR doing 55, so Beyonnaise can make this thread in ATRL.

You're being controlled and the plan is going as it should.

Clock me

Her team messed up the single relases after Vampire. They should have waited to album release week to release GHB! as 2nd single

I like Guts way more than Sour but everything about the album, from the sound and aesthetic, screams "Sour (Deluxe Edition)".

I don't think it was wrong of her for making an album that sort of cements a signature punk pop sound, but she should have done SOMETHING so it really stands apart from Sour, like visually or something at least.

Also I don't think it helps that, outside of the music, the only thing I heard about her was the Taylor drama. No fashion moments, no funny/likeable/cute personality moments, etc.

She’s pretty, but she doesn’t strike me as a star. Olivia looks like any girl you’d see at Target or Starbucks. There’s nothing to latch onto. Not memorable. Just ordinary.  Plus Vampire sucked.

Fearless did 58 weeks initially and Speak Now did 15.

It's part of the slump.

GUTS could very well enter the top 10 again later too

-She changed her team for a new one right?

-They didnt know how to manage the singles. they ****** that*

-Vampire was too weak of a single. If you want me to be honest i loved the song but the video was too simplistic. I dont think petra is as good as people say for her. Her videos feel very cheap and amateurish. Olivia needs bigger productions. The song starting as a ballad was also bad.

-The Punk sound is goin down.

-The Taylor swift situation. Olivia should have keep supportin taylor even if she hates her deeply. So many swifties jumped ship and she needed those

-Her boyfriend was ugly and non-interesting. She needs to date someone famous like selena-taylor for that Controversy and Drama.

-Serving the same visuals and concept was not the best thing. Is important in your sophomore era to go harder than ever. This one feels more like a stepping stone. If u want me to be honest i find Billie and Olivia sophomores very dissapointing. Didnt live to the expectations. At least Gaga-Katy tried to come with something powerful.

-Olivia needs to branch out and stop working with dan ***** entirelly. Have only some songs with him. Not the entire record. Also expand that pop and ballads things. Go for synthpop-r&b. Try something different.

-Olivia is asian. is hard to find an audience in the States specially cause theyre a minority group. She has to manipulate latinos-black community-whites to stream her music.  From all the pop singers Taylor swift is the one with the easiest path to success racial wise. She was white blue eyes blondie serving fairytale. She was perfect for the largest demography in the united states aka White Teens. Olivia doesnt have that. Doesnt have that chance. :gaycat3:
