No, key is longevity as a popstar which Katy could not achieve with the things you say she did.. can't even chart anymore, GP and her fans are not here for her anymore. she got a deal with american idol and her residency ? okay. For example her peer Lady Gaga, had multiple vegas show, latest album with a #1, a worldwide stadium soldout tour, lead actress movies,  like.. that's smarth.

Please. OOTB sold the same as Prism and have her two most global hits. It even outdid Teenage Dream in a couple European countries. 
 

She was from OOTB to the first half of Prism. Then it went downhill.

Definitely not the smartest, but she's definitely done a good job still booking a bunch of gigs and making investments that have been super lucrative for her, even if she had to take out a couple octogenarians along the way.
