I think Dua needed something in your face, huge budget and sound changing lead single. Houdini is a great song but to me it would’ve worked as great 2nd single with full 5 min. version, considering it won’t be promoted on Radios…..

This is actually a great song, one of my fave Dua singles.

My only hunch is that it is not lead single material. Its not an explosive instant song that usually serves as leads, its a grower song that is appreciated in a longer span of time, a 4th/5th single you would release to keep the momentum of the era going before its end.

I don’t want to become one of those negative members who only complain 24/7, but why did she go to Japan and didn’t perform the song?  The fact Houdini entered the spotify chart with the fan event alone… Japan is ready to stan her!  I remember that performing on local tv shows helped so much Gaga, Taylor and Ariana to boost their popularity there  also the promo on TikTok is terrible rn, every time I see an user promoting the song (ads), all the comments are dragging the song AND Dua  a quick research would’ve made them realize those types of ads only work for new artists, just look at how Doja and Tate promote their songs on TikTok…

I hope her team gets their **** together for the second single and the album, but they’re serving out of touchness so far.

Holding up well WW because it doesn’t depend on US streams that much, so the thanksgiving’s effect with xmas songs didn’t harm it as much as other US-centered songs
