BuzzCharts Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 It was never lead single material. If she wants to have success she needed to release a song that at least had a chance to succeed. This song was dead on arrival. 1

ariananext Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 the song is amazing that's certainly not the reason it's "underperforming"

I posted a while ago but i got downvoted, that this is her Focus and her next single will be her Dangerous Woman (especially if she keeps Training Season, which according to insiders is so much better than Houdini).

I have no doubt they are demonstrating their ‘soft power’ by minimizing plays of the song and therefore its impact. What the hell is this idiotic post? "It will alienate straight white radio DJs and minimize plays"... are you aware that this song is being carried by radio in the US? More airplay than streams week 1 The LAST thing you should ever blame on a Dua Lipa song bombing is "radio not playing it enough" 2 5 2

What we’re not gonna do is take important moments that were based in racism, misogyny and homophobia to justify a song underperforming for stan standards almost 50 years later. Disco has been white washed and accepted by the masses since then. Dua herself is an euro star coming off a hit album based on the sound that smashed on radio. Houdini is showing strong debut numbers on radio and she’s been touring stations. Maybe you meant conservative america not boping to disco music in the 2023 political climate, which you might have a point, but we’ve been past “disco sucks!” and disco-influenced songs were some of the most successful pop songs in the 2020s decade so far 2 1

Bloodflowers. Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 It took TikTok a year since FN came out for Levitating to go viral. We have to just wait for kids to turn "catch me or i go" into a meme and we will be set to go 1
unclefloprry Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 Not the meltdowns, lmao, the only reason the song falls on the global chart is because Biden's country the ww numbers are still cute, not everybody can do +2.9M outside of Trump's country. 8 hours ago, bjorn said: South America said NO This is probably one of the 3-4 english songs in the top 200 of SA countries

Thanks for foreshadowing exactly what y’all are going to use as an excuse if this song ends up taking off in January. There’s always an excuse when she smashes. 6
unclefloprry Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 btw if a certain song by a certain ex-act is Top 5 on radio and it's N/A on Spotify and AM, I think this could make it to those spots too. 1
