This. CS would not have been this big as a single in 2019. Taylor had been on a downward trajectory singles-wise since LWYMMD and had lost her radio darling status. I don’t think CS would’ve done any better than ME or Calm Down, it needed the cultural moment of the Eras Tour.

I think Cruel Summer can get to #2, unless BB overperforms. He's only 1 point ahead in the predictions. I guess its how his streams go this week. If CS could just get a lyric video that would be something & probably enough to put CS at #1. Maybe CS can anyway. 

 

Either way, CS has grown into 1 of her biggest hits & a fan favorite, #1 or not. I think it is her longest #1 run at T40, it hit #1 at HAC & #1 on Radio Songs. The only Top 2s since LWYMMD to reach #1 on Radio Songs was Anti-Hero.
