So basically she could have saved those versions for this week to get a second week at #1. But I think it could still be #1 this week again

I think the boost is coming from streaming points of the EP? Without the EP it would have been dangerously close with Doja probably. But ye she could have saved the discounts for next week or use the discounts this week and drop the ep next week. Either way I think she's getting it both weeks. The live version is considerably different from the studio version, so it's fun playing it.

Haters must be fuming right now. Their narrative that she only got to #1 coz of sales (new versions of the song) is wrong.

We truly won x

A second week at number 1 please! She better release a tour video of cruel summer to secure a second week at number 1 :chick3:

I wish she did it last week so Drake would have 2 #2 singles low-key and seethe

Last week Drake have 2 songs above 300+ points, CS would still at #3 with 272 points :skull:

Literally anybody can make and post Hot 100 predictions. What separates good predictions from bad predictions is whether they are accurate. Which Winston's clearly is not.

Even people who don't even do predictions posted in this thread saying Winston's prediction wasn't accurate and correctly assumed that the gap was larger.

winston quit making predictions for awhile but clearly is back if people care about his content.

maybe focus on your own bag instead of obsessing over others’, yeah?

The way she knows what she's doing. Never doubt her marketing/timing talents.

I would think so. I'm glad Cruel Summer finally hit #1. CS had already grown into 1 of her biggest hits even without being #1. But the #1 is definitely deserved & well earned after so long in the Top 5.

So… that was last week lmao. Drake would have been blocked at #1 if he released the first week that Rich Men North of Richmond or Try That In a Small Town we’re #1. And he would have been blocked based on points all of Jan-Mar of 2023. Good thing we’re on this week only! :heart2:

No. I have the right to comment on the accuracy of predictions, especially when it's blatantly obvious it's inaccurate (as evidenced by today's preds when he put CS' sales at 20K and midweek preds when he said the Drake song "is challenging #1" and it's over 10 points behind #2). The amount of people that care about his content is irrelevant to this point (which is not many anyways considering only his cloutchasing posts make noise). And if you want to talk about me getting "my own bag", I used to run a Twitter account that is miles bigger than his will ever be.

And as for "he quit making predictions for awhile" yeah that's because he didn't see any opportunities to clout-chase. At least TOTC, as much as they clout-chase, goes through the hassle of predicting on boring weeks because they actually want to provide accurate, reliable information to people. He skips those weeks because clout is the only thing he cares about. (And this is another reason why he isn't trustworthy, because if he cared about accuracy he would predict on boring weeks since those are more predictable).

“I used to run a Twitter account that is miles bigger than his will ever be” sounds like janellousy

OT: the fact that CS didn’t need any remixes or versions to go #1 / and is now tracking for a second week at #1

It's still objectively true. Anyways, that's not the point. The point is, I can comment on the accuracy of predictions if I want to.

TOTC:

Taylor Swift's "Cruel Summer" is currently on track to spend a second week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated November 4, 2023).

I'm happy to see CS finally getting #1 to make up for the terrible single choices for Lover era in 2019.

Is there a chance Cruel Summer might become Taylor’s biggest hit chartwise? Not a song from Lover doing this. :clap3:Finally getting its revenge from all the hate (of the album) :clap3:

If Anti-Hero isnt getting to Shake It Off, I dont see it for Cruel Summer either.

But certainly top 5

Shake It Off spent like 12 weeks in the top 2 alone I think.

Cruel Summer would need a lot of longevity in those positions to become close so I don't think so..
