alejandreaux Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 this is literally in the same ballpark of what Endgame did with its advance ticket sales we can debate about talent or stage presence or artistry or whatever, that’s all fair game. but when it comes to pure commercial demand for a music star, i’ve just never witnessed anything like Taylor’s past 2 years in my lifetime 3 1
MidnightsAtPeace Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 (edited) This is the first time in my whole life I have seen an artist dominate the entire entertainment industry like this. She's no longer a huge artist or a prominent figure of our time, she's basically an inescapable and exceptionally MASSIVE phenomenon whose name will go down in history as a legend. she deserves all of it Edited October 5, 2023 by MidnightsAtPeace 5 2

Why would people waste their resources to go to a theatre to see that which is available for free on youtube because you can get a high quality visual in theatres and make new experiences that cannot be replicated by watching it on youtube alone in your room??? i bought two tickets for opening night next week. i can't wait!

These projections have been floating around long before the record was broken. I see. Thanks - I skipped right past the line in the article where they make this distinction.
Feanor Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Insane. Walkups will probably be minimal, due to the nature of the film, but that won't matter when it's already at this number. Although I'm yet to pre-buy my ticket.

I haven’t bought a ticket yet either, I hope I can find a seat opening weekend

Walk_Away21 Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Not Taylor ending the MCU. Grace will be FURIOUS. @Reverse Warholian @Sexyzinger @GraceRandolph @The Witch @Assassin

Why would people waste their resources to go to a theatre to see that which is available for free on youtube 1. There's no communal aspect of watching it at home by yourself, and sharing the experience with other fans is the point. This movie is primarily for people who can't see the tour in person, and they want to interact with other fans as they get this 2. YouTube videos do not compare to IMAX professional cameras and professionally mixed audio. I want to see and experience the show in the best possible quality and I can't get that from a YouTube video 3. You can find a lot of movies on YouTube but most people would rather go see them in better quality in a theater all day every day 2

Either way it's dope she cares about her craft/job enough to invest her own money into it She paid for the production of the film 100%. AMC is, in a first of it's kind deal, covering distribution. Seeing as she is the sole financer of the production, she will be entitled to typical financer cuts if not more. Beyonce for example has a similar deal with AMC (she paid for production, AMC covers distribution) and she is getting about 50% of box office. Taylor will be the same. 1
byzantium Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 You can watch this for free if you close your eyes and imagine. Why would anyone waste their money to go see a produced experience in theaters? 5
