Imagine getting a #1 album 30+ years into your career :jonnycat:

She really blessed us

the fact there's bigger gap between Black Diamond and Unbreakable than between Disc-error and Unbreakable :deadbanana2:

Broken Legacies Heal

I don't use much of Unbreakable tho, it's a legacy album than a commercial album

So frustrating that we're still waiting. We really need one more fully realized and polished project from her. I'd say Unbreakable was about 80% there. i love it and listened to it a ton between 2015-2018 but haven't gone back to it so much since.

Yeah I wore the album out the first year or so but I rarely listen now.

This visual is so cute, very The Velvet Rope.

The people around her gotta be the pits. A number one album at this stage in her career, multiple arena/theater  tours and a semi-hit with Made For Now  should've been enough to light a fire.:rip:

I love Janet, but I really think her team wastes her time and legacy. Enough greatest hits tours...she is a current popstar and should be treated as such.:michael:

So true, as you said those were all successes. To be honest I don't even think she has much of a team, just deals with promoters and Live Nation so she can put on live shows. It's all shame really.

Possibly her most underrated album :jonny: It was an absolute return to form and it was everything you needed from a Janet album back in 2015.

Take Me Away is still THAT song :clap3:

The way I've been a stan for 6 years and she has yet to release an album during that time though :deadbanana2:

I've only been a fan since 2016 and I've heard other people have similar experiences - I feel like the internet has allowed the younger generation to experience her music, but you have to search for it.

It's a shame she's not doing anything about her legacy because there's a lot of goodwill around for her, especially with recent reexaminations on her career.

i spammed it in 2015 but haven't gotten back to it at all so all i really remember is that i really liked the great forever, the title track and the missy feature.

no sleeep being my most played janet song

I liked it, but the problem with Janet albums is that all songs are too long, also no one cares about interludes anymore.

I stan Black Eagle, After you Fall and the lead.

Night should've been a single! I'm getting mad all over again kdkdkdkddk

Ironic because AYF is the one song that really stayed past its welcome

For me all her songs stayed past its welcome including AYF. That is why I didn't listen to it in 8 years. But I like how vulnerable the song is, so for me it has a lot of artistic value.

I have Feedback (the single) anyday over any song from Unbreakable.

It's been so long. Where is Black Diamond sis?

She delivered a great and graceful album with this one though. No gimmick-y stuff, just pure Janet.

Not Dammn Baby - worst song on the album, aged like spoiled milk - being the second most voted song:rip:

And it's not even like the video is clouding yall's judgement because it's just as bad as the song :biblionana:

if feels like it should be 3 minutes tops

sometimes songs feel longer because they repeat itself too much

I like Janet, but this is a feeling I have towards several of her albums.

Just like J.los Rebirth and the one after, the songs never end, I get so tired when I'm in the middle of the album I just don't want to listen to it anymore.

I don't love it as much as I used to but it's still good imo. I just wish they didn't have that weird effect on her voice.

And yeah that video is a travesty. That was my peak Janet hate era ddkdkkdkdd

I didn't vote for them lol, but Gon' B Alright, Well Traveled and Love U 4 Life deserve way more love :gayliecat1:

I hate the bootleg DJ Mustard beat and the vocal treatment is indeed terrible :dancehall2:

She sounds much better on the Café Mix (Remixed by Jimmy Jam himself) which doesn't have that ugly filter on her vocals

Such an immaculate album.

The musical versatility among those 3 songs alone is kinda crazy. :psyduck: A Motown-esque bop, an anthemic country/pop ballad and a sultry R&B slow jam with brazilian jazz chords... Mutha was having fun trying new things in the stu'
