You do realize Marvel is owned by Disney right? It is literally THE definition of the Hollywood studio system and what they stand for. Literally the reason Marvel didn't make a female led move until 2019 is misogynist old men that were in charge.

Thankfully, the MCU hype train has collapsed. Scorsese should be happy that we had two excellent original films released this year on the same day. Looking forward to watching Killers of the Flower Moon too.

yes mizgirl everyone knows that… I’m talking moreso about the entire Hollywood system as a whole and how basically all these old people are mad that they can’t run it the same way they did a decade or 20 years ago.

 

Marvel isn’t perfect but let’s not pretend like these wealthy cis men complaining we’re so progressive and known for their diverse casts in their movies.

The older generation is mad we don't want to see movies about slavery, discrimination, and/or homophobia anymore. The one thing all of the 'comic book movies' have in common is DIVERSITY. It's not that we are choosing to not support movies with artistic vision, it's just that we embrace change and are voting with our wallets. We are telling them what we want, yet they turn their heads in stubbornness because back in the 80s and 90s they made great movies for that time!!!

You're right. Just see how he didn't Say we have to support Jordan peele, which Is a real, great and innovator author but Nolan, with his last movie about men, made by men with only men at the centre and where the only 2 women are there to Say 2 words and being the Crazy lover sexually provocative or the good wife there to forget your husband cheated on you (while drinking and smoking a lot of course). 

The same old bi color representation of women ( the good wife vs the sexy *****).

I’m not going to argue that marvel’s movies could absolutely use a quality upgrade. That said, they are done for an entirely different audience usually. Not everything needs to be serious. Also, not everything needs to be male centric either. Marvel has been taking (albeit clumsy) strides to be more inclusive whereas his movies aren’t. It’s an old white men-centric cast.
