Era's that started as a flop but then smashed?

When I'm Not Dead dropped, P!nk was coming from an actual flop album previously. By the time this point P!nk had no where to go but up as her career was almost over. However, the third single U+Ur Hand started to smash. It earned P!nk her first top ten in years. After this, her label re-released Who Knew giving P!nk another top 10 in the US. Thanks to those two singles her career was literally saved. Now she's touring stadiums.

Album cover which shows a young woman in a low-cut dress, with dark eyeliner and hair pinned high on her head.

Here me out. Also released in 06', the albums two lead singles did not have the success on the level Bey had with DIL. Beyoncé fresh off the heels of a massive debut album, followed by another success with Destiny Child's and a #1 hit Check on It.  Beyoncé at that point looked like anything she could release would be a smash. While Déjà Vu went top 5 it was no Crazy in Love. Ring the Alarm followed giving her at that point her biggest debut, but it ended up being her first flop. Irreplaceable came out, and the rest was history. Irreplacable rejuvenated album sales.

Stripped

Dirrty underperformed in the US and only peaked at #48 on the hot 100 and #14 on pop radio.  The album debuted at #2 but started sliding down the charts. RCA quickly released Beautiful and it became a smash. Stripped went on to sell 5X platinum in the US alone and over 2 million in the UK.

Pink's "I'm Not Dead"

Initially debuted with 126k sales, missed top 5, plummeted out of the top 100 within 3 months, Stupid Girls peaked at #13 and was dropping like a rock with no radio support

Who Knew couldn't even chart and flopped at #118 on the Bubbling Under

She opens up for Justin's FutureSex/Lovesounds Tour and "U + Ur Hand" randomly starts taking off and peaks in the top 10 over a year after I'm Not Dead released, becoming her biggest hit in almost 5 years

They re-release Who Knew which becomes her biggest hit since "Get the Party Started" and I'm Not Dead ends up going from selling only 600k in 2006 to selling 1.8M and charting for 88 weeks

The way those were DONE by late 2016 while Ariana was smashing with Side to Side. How the tables turned in just a few months.

Disagreed completely. “Dirrty” was not made for pop radio and that’s okay. The album was a clear smash from the start and only a decline when compared to her peers.

OT:

B’Day is a perfect example.

In The Zone by Britney Spears.

Rated R by Rihanna.

Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande.

Happier Than Ever by Billie Eilish.

Dua Lipa by Dua Lipa.

Guts by Olivia Rodrigo.

Lol.  The album has been out for 2 weeks and has already gone through the cycle of flopping and then becoming a success.

Rihanna: Rated R

Xtina: Stripped

Avril: Under My Skin

Rated R was saved by Hard and all the other singles after Russian Roulette bombed.

Stripped flopped at first, and Dirrty didn't do well and had a lot of backlash. Beautiful completely saved the album and era and made it a smash hit. It's now Xtina's signature album too (and best album). Personally I LOVE Dirrty.

Under My Skin came after Avril's huge debut album and "Don't Tell Me" definitely underperformed and wasn't doing great. My Happy Ending completely saved the era/album and it became a big hit.
