Tropez Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 When I'm Not Dead dropped, P!nk was coming from an actual flop album previously. By the time this point P!nk had no where to go but up as her career was almost over. However, the third single U+Ur Hand started to smash. It earned P!nk her first top ten in years. After this, her label re-released Who Knew giving P!nk another top 10 in the US. Thanks to those two singles her career was literally saved. Now she's touring stadiums. Here me out. Also released in 06', the albums two lead singles did not have the success on the level Bey had with DIL. Beyoncé fresh off the heels of a massive debut album, followed by another success with Destiny Child's and a #1 hit Check on It. Beyoncé at that point looked like anything she could release would be a smash. While Déjà Vu went top 5 it was no Crazy in Love. Ring the Alarm followed giving her at that point her biggest debut, but it ended up being her first flop. Irreplaceable came out, and the rest was history. Irreplacable rejuvenated album sales.
Into The Void Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Rated R is a good example I guess 2

Disagreed completely. “Dirrty” was not made for pop radio and that’s okay. The album was a clear smash from the start and only a decline when compared to her peers. OT: B’Day is a perfect example. In The Zone by Britney Spears. Rated R by Rihanna. Dangerous Woman by Ariana Grande. Happier Than Ever by Billie Eilish. Dua Lipa by Dua Lipa. Guts by Olivia Rodrigo.

JustHoran Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 (edited) Rihanna: Rated R Xtina: Stripped Avril: Under My Skin Rated R was saved by Hard and all the other singles after Russian Roulette bombed. Stripped flopped at first, and Dirrty didn't do well and had a lot of backlash. Beautiful completely saved the album and era and made it a smash hit. It's now Xtina's signature album too (and best album). Personally I LOVE Dirrty. Under My Skin came after Avril's huge debut album and "Don't Tell Me" definitely underperformed and wasn't doing great. My Happy Ending completely saved the era/album and it became a big hit.
