its_britney_bitch Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I missed it in London, I’m planning a trip to New York next January I really hope this will still be there by then!
Dark Phoenix Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I’m happy that she’s getting to opportunity to showcase her talent, she should’ve starring in films or being a strong force in the business and I guess that the media and GP neglected her for being in PCD. 2

I’m glad she’s taking this direction and having enormous success with it. Honestly, I'd rather a covers/classics album than original music, unless its something REALLY good and not just generic pop music. 1

I was mesmerized by her Phantom of the Opera performance and i can’t wait to hear Sunset cast recording since i am a huge fan of the musical. 100%. Also, apparently the cast recording was done and it was recorded LIVE. And I truly hope that's true, because it's so much better live. 3 hours ago, its_britney_bitch said: I missed it in London, I’m planning a trip to New York next January I really hope this will still be there by then! It will be, she agreed for a 6 month run. 1

She's already got a great tracklist from all the songs she's covered/performed over the years for a covers album tbh. 1. I'll be Your Love (Yoshiki duet) 2. Purple Rain (Prince cover) 3. My Heart Will Go On (Celine cover - rock version) 4. Reflection (Mulan) 5. Never Enough (The Greatest Showman) 6. I Put a Spell on You 7. Don't Cry For Me Argentina (Evita) 8. Memory (Cats) 9. As if we Never Said Goodbye (Sunset Boulevard) 10. With One Look (Sunset Boulevard) 11. Beauty and the Beast ft Luke Evans 12. Ain't Nobody ft Natasha Bendingfield. 13. I just Want to make Love To You ft Tom Odell Now THIS would be an album. She could call it Nicole Scherzinger - Uncovered. 1
spiritboy Posted January 17 Posted January 17 The Phantom of the Opera should be on that album as well. 1

Spoiler this makes you think about the amount of random broadway performers who have grammys due to the musical theatre category while some pop girls have been doing everything to win one and failing

She's a multimillionaire thanks to X Factor, The Masked Singer and the dozen other TV shows she's been on. But yes, PCD and her first solo album are the reason she was able to even meet ALW and perform for him. She was on this program promoting Killer Love: 20 hours ago, XtinaStripped said: This was a logical career move about a decade ago for her. It's great she's finally made the plunge and seeing success! She's so talented and has been wasted as a TV personality way too much of her career. She didn't meet ALW until about a decade ago. It was her meeting with him and him recognizing her talent that did this. In the meantime, the TV shows paid her mortgage and bills.

No, his first job offer was the West End revival of Cats back in in 2014-15, which she took. If you're referring to the Broadway revival, while she was ALW's recommendation, it was not up to him as he was not a producer in the US production. She was in the running and quit because the American producers kept stalling on her contract; they didn't feel her name was relevant enough to carry the show so she signed up for X Factor instead. ALW was angry, but they made up when she explained her side of the story and she performed with him again a week later. 1

You really are the #1 Nicole Scherzinger fan in the world. The guy who runs Portal Nicole must be your only competition. I remember you Nicole album/single collection. Is it still posted in the base thread? 1
PoisonPill Posted April 16 Posted April 16 Nicole just won the Olivier (UK's equivalent of the Tonys) for Best Actress. Huge honor to win this on her first foray into musical theatre, which tends to be wary of pop stars.

She played Maureen in Rent at the Hollywood Bowl, she made her West End debut in Cats as Grizabella in 2014 and was nominated for an Oliver, she guest appeared in the Rocky Horror Picture Show and played Grace in Annie Live, she also did the Broadway workshop for Death Becomes Her in early 2023. All performances were critically acclaimed. But Normal Desmond was her first leading role in a musical. Also, Nicole might be seen as a 'Pop' star in the mainstream due to the Pussycat Dolls, but the theater community is very aware of her potential and talent when it comes to Musical Theater. She literally studied the arts and originally wanted to pursue a career on Broadway. Tbh, she should have made the full jump to musical theater much earlier in her career. 1

Yeah, I meant that this isn't just Nicole suddenly deciding to do musical theater. She's been doing random plays here and there since she was in PCD
fridayteenage Posted May 30 Posted May 30 she will have very tough competition. audra mcdonald will be doing gypsy. audra has 6 tonys. and the role she's doing has 3 tonys (tied for the most), amongst 5 noms (the most for a role).
