Is 18-30 not young now? She still has plenty of teenage fans who engage in online harassment. Bffr

...Just like other fanbases. Which is my point. This is not isolated to Taylor Swift in any way. You be for real :rip:

Its highly problematic that she wished that Taylor had a stint in rehab to stan her

addiction is not fun or glamorous. It can destroy lives

If any of ATRL's favs was the #1 artist on streaming, #1 artist on pure sales and #1 artist on touring, everything by a huge margin, you'd have to read countless essays here about the unprecedented and historic moment we'd be witnessing. Somehow when media talks about this reality they are "overhyping". What do you want them to tell you about Taylor Swift? If you want to read haters you have plenty of them. :dies:

i like some of her songs though i i find her overrated . the big reason for her success is she has a good team behind her and  alot people seem to relate to the lyrics of her songs.

Beyoncé, Madonna, Rihanna, and Gaga don’t appeal to kids and teens like Taylor does though.

Not…every article is going to be…positive…like I-

Quality wise she is overhyped. Midnights was pretty safe and it still got almost 90s on metacritic

Also I don't know why are the swifties bring selling and touring power into this.

They appeal to middle aged gays that are even more chronically online and bitter.

And also, I can bet you that Taylor Swift has more fans up into their 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's than any other artist. Why? Because she covers the gamut of genres that no one else does. She has song styles that can be compared to the Beatles, EMO, Carole King, Folk music, Disco, and much more.

It will always be interesting that only Popular musicians get this kind of "protection" or "fear".

Doesn't happen with video games, films (well with the way Barbie stans are acting... ), actors or television shows. Doesn't happen in sports either, some of the most criticized athletes tend to be the most popular. Everyone and their mom has something negative to say about LeBron James, from fans to the analysts (who would be the equivalent of music critics).

As for what she actually said it's an opinion so whatever.

So? Nothing wrong with appealing to gays. I guess in your world everyone should aim for teenage white girls.

...? Taylor having a broader appeal doesn't change anything.

You're derailing this conversation. It does NOT change the fact that their fanbases still attack reviewers and that this is not isolated to Taylor in any way. Like I literally JUST said literally a month ago a random guy on TikTok with like 2K followers went viral on Twitter (we're talking about tweets with 80K to 120K likes) receiving nonstop lashings and hate just for saying he wished Beyoncé had an opener on her tour and that he would've picked different songs to open the show.

Stop trying to paint this as solely a Swiftie problem when it's clearly broader :rip:

Literally what do you think you're achieving by posting a random tweet with 47 likes? :rip:

Because that's the proof that more people like her music, or think her music is of high quality, than anybody else in the world right now. Pretty straightforward.

Appealing to millennial white women and kids doesn’t equal broad appeal though.

Swifties called artists who appeal to gays in a thread the other day has beens. And now an artist who debuted 2 years after Tay only attracted ancient gays, as if 35 year old women who like Taylor are spring chickens.

You literally just said she appeals to kids and teens unlike others (therefore not millennials) and she's the biggest western artist in Asia, a continent where almost no one is white. Now will you stop derailing this conversation :rip: This isn't an issue isolated to Swifties no matter what you say :deadbanana2:

Show me where I said this is an issue isolated to Swifties? Where? Where? Where did I say that?

But because she is successful and appeals to millennial white women and parts of Asia we have to pretend to like her or were accused of being haters, and our favs are has beens for speaking out about gay rights before 2019.

People love to complain when we bring numbers into a discussion where they’re relevant because they hate to confront the truth made clear by those same numbers.
