I’m a late 90’s kid, they need to expand their musical knowledge!

You get it. :jonny2:

the mid section of the album is obviously (rhythmic) trap :rip:

which is also lowkey genius because she managed to blend and separate the 2 sides of the album at the same time for a seamless transition from the hip hop side to the r&b side :jonny4:

FTG & Can’t Wait for the win, Doja! :jonny5:

I was expecting an album embellished with low-tier deliveries, if only from my inaugural disdain of Demons (which is now in Manjobi’s sector of ironic crap-bop classics :katie2:), but Scarlet was such a wonderful surprise. Dark, colloquial, introspective, and unapologetically animated. A montage of videos a-la B’Day, and I’ll die happy. 4.5 stars for me. :heart2:

Is it just me or does her voice sound different than before in a lot of the songs? She sounds good just different imo

Just finished my first listen….

this definitely has some great songs but overall it’s kinda lacking something for me tbh

It’s definitely cohesive and goes for a certain vibe very clearly but the lack of pop-leaning tracks compared to her other albums is bothering me since that’s what made me stan her…

hope scarlet tour setlist wont be snooze songs heavy :chick2:

the hiphop bops and singles are the only ones i’ll use x

She’s a good rapper and has a great pen but the actual sound of the album is boring and bland, it’s giving SoundCloud producers. I think I could give this album infinite more passes if she didn’t present it to the world as a second coming, it would have otherwise been a completely acceptable shift into more serious rap, kinda just shows how important the artist is to their art :michael:

The album is so good :smitten2: can’t wait, agora hills and FTG are my initial favorites, there’s such a great variety of sounds on the record. That being said, 97, gun, and sutcho could’ve probably been cut tbh. That section drags on a bit too log and just Go off would’ve been fine enough, but maybe they’ll grow on me with time

This is gonna be her re-up before her Pink Print I just know it :rip:

Though at least this has a hit on it. But she’s definitely following the;

Pop hybrid album

pop leaning album

rap album

and next will be the rap leaning/pop hybrid

that Nicki did

Demons sounds amazing, finally clicked when I heard it within' the album. Attention too :jonny:

The album is receiving a lot of mixed reviews on Twitter too. The narrative that “people who don’t like the album aren’t real rap fans” is not true at all. lol.

Can’t Wait hit even more in the car …. It made me cry last night.

FTG & Can’t Wait are def my faves for now.
