The other writers on Attention are the producers; they get writing credit for making the beat.

For PTTR I think most of those writers are for the sample + beat.

Same for Demons, except I’m not sure what Christina Doman did.  It’s the producers wife; she could’ve co-produced.  Hard to know.

No? They don't simply get a writing credit for producing, lots of producers don't get writing credits. And why would the wife have co-produced and not have producing credits? The song also has a fourth writer who isn't a producer either. Doja obviously didn't completely write the songs herself and that's fine.

Okay favorite crime. I’m going to assume you clearly don’t know how the industry or songwriting credits work, but bless your heart for thinking you can waltz up in here and tell us Doja fans about our fave’s song credits and who’s writing what. I never knew you had such a close connection with her publishing distribution! Please continue to enlighten us with your stupi-newfound knowledge .

For the rest of y’all, let’s have a smart day.

Based on Demons and Attention Spotify debuts and Paint the Town Red daily streams, I’m thinking the album will be doing around 40M first day streams.

I wonder how long they're going to take with that vinyl pre order.. better get it out sooner than later or the release hype will wear off and it'll sell less than it should (Planet Her)

Final predictions for this:

Spotify Global first day: 40.4M

Billboard 200: #1 or #2 135k-175k

Pitchfork: 7.4

You ok? :ahh:

And yes, some producers DO get writing credits.  I guess to clarify, publishing credit — therefore listed with songwriters.  The beat is a composition.  It all just depends on what they negotiate.  Some would rather just be paid upfront fee, while others prefer ongoing royalties (ie, publishing)…or mix of both.

tbh…i don’t really care either way.  I think some of Doja best songs are co-writes, and that’s perfectly fine.  In no way should her writing even be debated, considering she’s written whole songs on IG Live in front of us.  I don’t even think touting “completely self written album” in press release is even necessary.

Just explaining why some producers might be listed in credits like that.  That’s all.

i don't really care about first week numbers. like this's doja, she's not going that strong on the first week.

the album will have longevity, another hit is a guarantee. this album already is a smash.

tea. we all know her quirkiness, her personality, her visions, her styles, etc. it's all hers. we could only wish most of the girls are in this level when in come to their music.

she's not some wannabe who mainly rely on their personality, feuds and dramas.

with the feature, i think this era she wants all the attention to herself, to her crafts, and want full domination.

also kind of a testimony for a mainstream artist to be able to do it by themselves and not stumble.

and if there were to be a feature or two, it's only gonna be just a decoration to her music.
