although I agree with the strike, as a worker I know that it is demotivating to work so much and be poorly paid

I wonder what The Rock, RDJ and Ryan Reynolds have to say about this.

Can someone explain why this affects worldwide productions? Is it just the ones affiliated with AMPTP members? Like bollywood and indie European productions will still chug on?

Because a lot of those productions are Hollywood ones filming worldwide, take for example Gladiator 2.

Yes they will continue on, they're not associated with this American union. Especially Bollywood, that's like a different universe.

It’s not worth it for any actor to go against the strike, right (reputation and morals aside)? Ie we won’t really be seeing any notable actors go against it even if they’re horrible and don’t agree with the strike

The famous celebrity actors only stand to lose financially from this but yes, none of them will publicly come out. Like, JLaw got paid $25M for that flop comedy, she doesn't care about any SAG contract. She doesn't need a union. But she knows better than to ruin her credibility forever.

This seems to cover TV/ theatrical contracts so I'm not too sure.

Warner bros have two shows that gets a pass is hilarious

I had a Panic attack for House of the dragon production but looks like they will continue filming since most actors are British or under British contracts that literally prohibits strikes

I don't think so. I mean, only if the musician wants to book a SAG associated director, right?

It's ridiculous that executives haven't put any real attention or interest into solving this conflict yet, this keeps scalating, and I hope it doesn't stop until real changes come up. Writers are essential, and deserve a fair recognition and payment.

Working media content related always ensures shitty work conditions and low pay for most people. I really hope they can pull through and achieve something with this. Usually the studios have content planned for a while so even without press they can release movies and shows that have been

produced. Streaming services could also push some older stuff. With all that money they have higher chances of winning.
We need the big celebrities to actually take a stand.

I didn’t know that is what Fran sounded like lol

You never heard Fran’s voice? That’s the most iconic thing about her :deadbanana4: her entire character on The Nanny was build around it

Wow. President Drescher has had enough! :clap3: The jig is up!

I just know that Tom Cruise is livid that he can’t promote Mission Impossible. It’ll do well regardless though.

Hollywood in its current form deserves to crumble

All I do is rewatch old shows anyway, so I'm fine. Hope they get what they want out of it. :celestial:

I mean, how scummy it is to completely DELETE their entire own produced shows like Disney+ is doing after a while just to make sure actors don't get paid ANY royalties. That's where actors like Fran Drescher made their wealth, now they want to use their talent, copy their likeness for Ai to exploit and then cut their income so they come crawling back for more work.
