This is either the end of streaming or 20 dollar subscriptions are about to double. That money is gonna come from somewhere and it ain’t the executives. It’s the consumers.     Netflix became a financial giant who stared this because they didn’t have to pay writers and actors the way other studios did. Since everyone else followed suit this can only end one way

I'm not familiar, how do Netflix have to pay writers and actors?

AI coming to the industry near you. Corporations care about money only and they're staring at the dollar savings of AI.

Tech layoff isn't even done yet, and now its coming for film and creative industry.

Meanwhile Microsoft and tech companies are releasing shiny AIs under almost zero regulations.

I think maybe they're cooking the books.

:fan2:

Since they're not releasing their streaming stats, how do we know how much they're making to have clear determination of how much writers and actors should be paid.

Most of it's promo was already done.

This actually benefits Barbie + Oppenheimer, as their competition is not allowed to do promo while they already got the word out very well about their imminent releases.

What competition? Haunted Mansion? That movies gonna flop regardless. :rip:

A complete and utter mess BUT this is what needs to be done to be honest.

It’s not worth it for any actor to go against the strike, right (reputation and morals aside)? Ie we won’t really be seeing any notable actors go against it even if they’re horrible and don’t agree with the strike

I need Stranger Things season 5 to start getting filmed NOWWWWWW so these billionaires better open up their wallets for writers and whatver else is being protested, I am not in keeping much with this story. All I know is Jennifer Lopez had to stop filming her Ben Affleck produced Oscar bait movie 2 months ago because of writers strikes. They better hurry up and give these writers their money so J.Lo can finally snatch that Oscar nomination

Maybe Jennifer will finally focus on music again and get This is Me... Now released before 2025.

This would be so cool. I've never seen a korean show but I would love if that aspect of TV would be a little bit more diverse.

Here in germany it's mostly US and german productions

you mean diverse in the sense of having access to other nationalities/races ? because if you are looking for diversity ON the actual shows, there's pretty much none, 99% actors are Korean...that being said, they are flawless... have you never watched "Squid Game" or "Alice in Borderland" (it's Japanese tho)

Can someone explain why this affects worldwide productions? Is it just the ones affiliated with AMPTP members? Like bollywood and indie European productions will still chug on?
