@XO_Life: I love this, it’s very poignant. as someone who’s gone through this sort of experience, it’s incredibly validating knowing that these thoughts could be articulated this way in lyric form. I particularly like “bones to dust/you made my heart rust.” it’s simple phrasing, but a truly powerful notion

@worldwide angel: did you listen to my song 883 by any chance? it really seems like you may have somewhat taken inspiration from that in some way, I love it. I don’t mean to toot my own horn lol. but this is excellent babe. with the visiting the new land… and the “cmon there’s something/there always got to be.” that’s so real, that’s such a great feeling to capture in a song and you killed it!

@Kylie Jenner: I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! omg it’s so f*cking evocative, it’s giving southern gothic, it’s giving twilight zone, it’s giving everything i love about writing tragic… epic… songs. I listened and gave you a follow on soundcloud too, I’m very impressed by the affectedness of your voice on this. you really stuck to the theme and i appreciate that

@Hug: I love the concept of combining chemicals to create a sort of near death scenario with several external factors. the sexual element is very exciting, and I feel like you nailed that part in particular. the concept of addiction in a song like this could be cliché so that’s always a thin line to tread carefully, but honestly you pulled it off and I really appreciate what you did with the outro. this could be a pop hit!

@Aurora: oh you definitely felt your vocabulary oats here and I would love this song even if just for that! but then again, there’s so much f*cking magic here that I wholeheartedly love the whole damn thing. verdant and verdure two lines after another? oh, I’m not trying to toot my own horn (again) but it REALLY feels like you took some inspiration from maybe my song Malakhova or my song Vlontresska. this is so soulful. the natural world aspects really struck me as well, beautiful and very organic inclusion imo. this is so well-thought out, you really offered something detailed and vivid here. bravo babe!

Thanks Joe, glad you enjoyed it esp. the vocab and the earthy section! Earth imagery is probably the natural element I’ve experimented with least, so it was fun working with a new series of metaphors and literary language in a sense.

wait if you just submitted one super long entry that none of the judges wanted to actually read, but didn't want to tank in fear of backlash, you could just use that same entry for every round and you'd probably end up writing less overall.

A great catalyst in helping this round go from an idea to coming to fruition with his song “Heaven in the Deep”, it only makes sense to have this icon join us for this round’s judging! Element was also a judge during Golden Hit’s first season and 2022’s Halloween Special, so your entries are in good hands with him. Excited to have you back Element! 
 

We’ll be aiming for results on Monday, and until then you can also look forward to Round 5 debuting tomorrow, the penultimate challenge of the season!
