1989 is still THAT album

but midnights is second,  Rep and Lover fans can fight over second to last place.

Only if we don't count Red as pop. 1989 didn't age that good

Red is her bible

"Style" is definitely not better than "Anti-Hero"... I low key always thought it was kinda overrated tbh :bird:

This is also very true. evermore, Speak Now, folklore, Red and Fearless >>>> the pop output.

Omg I don’t think I’ve seen anyone who also sees this truth. There are dozens of us! Or at least two! :weeps:

I started appreciating it more after Ajay's reacting tbh. Most songs are good apart from Question

Truee it kinda made me re-appreciate the album again and been listening more. Her crying to Bigger Than The Whole Sky still hits me tho :rip:

Welcome To New York vs. Lavender Haze

Blank Space vs. Maroon

Style vs. Anti-Hero

Out of the Woods vs. Snow on the Beach

All You Had To Do Was Stay vs. You're On Your Own, Kid

Shake It Off vs. Midnight Rain

I Wish You Would vs. Question..?

Bad Blood vs. Vigilante Sh1t

Wildest Dreams vs. Bejeweled

How You Get the Girl vs. Labyrinth

This Love vs. Karma

I Know Places vs. Sweet Nothing

Clean vs. Mastermind

1989: 7

Midnights: 6

All 3 1989 bonus tracks are 10/10, but so are 4 of the Midnights 3 am Edition songs, so they balance out in the end.

it’s extremely good. it’s no mistake the gp has latched onto it and only atrl fumes about its supposed lack of quality

No, imo it's her worst album :rip:

It's a great album. I still prefer Lover and 1989 to be honest, but I enjoy it more than Reputation. And I enjoy all her pop albums to her country and folk albums.

Even the Swifties don't claim it as amazing when she gave us folklore, evermore, Red, Speak Now and 1989...

I wouldn’t say all that BUT it is aging like fine wine, and because of the songwriting, production and like subtext it’s like growing better and better with each listen

1989 is the old testament, Midnights is the new testament. Still the pop bible!

if by 'pop' you are excluding pre-1989 albums + folkmore then yes!

Yes indeed. No duds (on the standard version) and it's got Labyrinth, Mastermind, YOYOK, Anti-Hero, Midnight Rain... all some of her best pop songs. Lyrics, melodies, production, her vocal delivery, it's all pure pop perfection.
