He should have waited another year for a new release. He's over exposed.

His last album bombed, so this one bombing even harder is no surprise. His recording career is basically done, but his tour continues to sell out and pull massive numbers, so at least he's got that going for him.

 

If you think about it, Shape of You kinda prolonged the inevitable. It was the perfect sound at the perfect time, and he managed to follow it up with Perfect. Everything after that was just riding that massive success, which obviously you can't keep going forever. He was lucky Bad Habits did so well in the long-run after the huge mistake that was the collab album.

I don't think it bombed, it spent like 30+ weeks in the top 25 on the BB200 and is still charting. It spent its first like 42 weeks in the top 3 in the UK and has never left the top 20. It's about to top 1 million units there. It ranked as the 4th biggest album of 2021 and the 10th biggest album of 2022. Bad Habits was the 10th biggest hit of both 2021 and 2022 while Shivers was the 7th biggest hit of 2022.

 

I feel like, if anything, that just makes this underperformance more interesting.

You all celebrating his downfall but I wish my faves could pull those numbers tbh I don’t like him and I don’t stream him or anything and his personality is horrible but he’s still succeeding anyway and you all will have to deal with it.

I'm not remotely surprised its bombing. He's a GP artist. Eventually the GP moves on to something else. 

 

I actually haven't heard anything from him since Bad Habits.
