Yeah I'll be keeping the original version. I was told the re-records were for the ~artistry~ and meant to be identical

it’s her song and she can do whatever she wants with it. if she doesn’t feel comfortable singing that one line, then she should change it

The og line was better but whatever. Who cares about BTR like that?

The new line isn't bad per se but it sounds ******* awful on the song if you spent a decade listening to it. :shakeno: The new listeners won't mind it. Whatever I'll always have the 2010 version.

At least she didn't make it about the masters cause I was really about to fall for the theories, especially since the MV she filmed is related to them apparently. A bullet was dodged. :rip:

when she sings it as a surprise song at eras tour and the crowd sings the mattress lyric then what :dies:

I guess she had to but it's still super disingenuous to the entire point of the album (plus rerecording everything else thus far as faithfully as possible lol)

That makes me wonder what other changes to vault stuff she's made

This isn’t the first time Taylor regretted or revised her lyrics. Would y’all want her to keep the homophobic line?

it does have the intro, and honestly it’s way more iconic than the mattress line :toofunny3:

now go stand in the corner, and THINK about what you did!

Taylor called her fake, stupid, grumpy, a thief… but at least she took back calling her a tempurpedic :deadbanana:

she’s asking us to give Pooter spare change — and I will oblige

I don’t care in the end too much about this one, but YES we do want F*ggots to Burn on Debut TV :bam:

The way the lyrics change doesn't change the meaning of the song in the slightest. It'd be cringe to see a 33 years old woman sing the line "she's better known for the things that she does in the mattress".
