Klein Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 I didn't mind Dear Reader leaving but High Infidelity is way to good to leave before the top 10

Nothing compares to the way that makes me feel. Love this song. Will make sure it reaches top 100 next year.

That song has no melody no instrumental no remarkable elements, it's something Ariana Grande would record great interesting production, the melody’s rhythm is unconventional, catchy as hell, fun and creative lyrics

It almost sounds like they pushed random buttons to come up with that instrumental.

It's just so solid, consistently good. Same for me. I don't know what clicked, but when it did, instant top 5 on Midnights.

Lorenzo22 Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 next rate should be after the rerecordings are done me thinks

Fifteen - 7.115 Lovers(10): Achilles., Fifteen, Icarus, Brando, freakum., Haters(1): Taylor fanboy Comments: eli’s_rhythm: If we’re strictly eating for the TV, it gets a 4, but I give it a higher score to tribute the original wastedpotential: A slog of a song that should’ve never been a single, but it introduced Abigail to the TSCU. Fifteen: where i give this one a 15 no but for real this song is amazing i hope u gauys get it

Funnily enough most of the European versions of the Fearless and Speak Now era songs are completely synthetic, with almost all the live elements being muted out and new instruments mixed in through computer softwares. 5 minutes ago, KillingYourCareer said: And there goes my number one favorite from Midnights! What I adore about High Infidelity is the April 29 detail she added. It's a little detail that makes the song only relatable to her. And I have a thing for remembering precise dates--I can even tell you what happened to me on May 11, 2001 when I was 4 years old, for example! What happened on 11 May 2001?

KillingYourCareer Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Fifteen deserves much more love as the OP said. And once again, I adore the inclusion of the Abigail detail. Makes the song very personal and endearing.

Cruel Summer Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Oh not Fifteen, what? This is actually the first real shocker to me (besides SOG Acoustic randomly being hated) I expected this to go Top 50 pretty easily

I love these little anecdotes And I LOVE Taylor's specificity, and I truly think it's one of the main reasons why she's one of the most relatable women on the planet, and the biggest pop star alive. Everyone can relate to "remember when we broke up" but it's FAR more powerful to say "remember when you hit the brakes too soon, twenty stitches in the hospital room, you started crying baby I did too, when the sun came up I was looking at you..." Sure, nobody else but Taylor has experienced that exact scenario, but everyone can relate to the FEELINGS she evokes with her specific, intimate lyrics. God I love her.
Holy Ground Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 The way I'm friends with a red head called Abigail too...the parallel
Klein Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Oh Fifteen should have been higher imo I think the TV really elevated the song. I don't remember where I heard it but someone said that it has more meaning being sung at 30 compared to 17-18 and I totally agree.

Velvet Night Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 (edited) Noo, Fifteen is out way too early, such a fantastic song. One of my favourites from Fearless Edited February 22, 2023 by Velvet Night

I have noticed that. Marketing choices for a continent that was obsessed with electronic music! 1 minute ago, ithinkheknowsoutsold said: What happened on 11 May 2001? I ate hot dog, roasted potatoes and strawberries... and then I threw up in the shower. Never touched a hot dog again until June 12, 2013, my first day on vacation in the USA, when I tried a tiny bit. It was as disgusting as I remembered. And on the day after I burped and I still felt the taste of that tiny bit of hot dog. Nightmarish but happy to share these experiences with you guys. And I can give 22 a shout out, since that song (gone too soon from this rate!) was always on the radio while I was there.
