People think aespa is over just because Girls underperformed but every one of these when Illusion plays it gets a huge crowd :deadbanana2: Girls was just a bad title track and I fear the girls who are wanting aespa to completely fail are delulu

stayc getting a hit is literally proof that underperforming nowadays means nothing in kpop

Ah you’re just pouring your pent up frustration, got it

not really, just making remarks about Twice’s comeback! good for them that they got inspired by „the worst BP solo” and decided to go and copy paste some of the scenes! even re-used the set! sustainable queens! from the beats to the mvs!

edit: actually I don’t think it’s the girls fault, JYP should do them better

if they were able to come up with Nayeon solo, they should be able to find something better for the group too

i keep thinking about how much SM blew RV's potential

they deserve to be recognized at western award shows and talk shows like twice and BP too

I'm hoping their gig at Primavera Sound is the beginning of their global expension

they're in desperate need of a tour as well

yeah, they could’ve been so much bigger if they would get more titles like Psycho and Bad Boy and push them in the west

Not gonna lie if there was an ounce of functioning brain cell in SM company, RV could’ve been the 2nd biggest kpop group internationally if they kept going with Bad Boy and Psycho sound. Two best songs out of 3rd gen:biblionny:

but even with their discography as it is they could've been selling out global tours

all SM does is give them a comeback, promote for two weeks and then their gone again

and I know a concert is coming but it's time for a tour!

SM is weird truly and I think they just have a very poor outlook on what fans truly want from their groups from 3rd gen onwards as it’s now showing in Aespa.

It’s the fact Bad Boy was the first girl group song ever to chart on US spotify and they did nothing I— no words.

They made an English version but did not know what to do with it :rip:

But I think RV is just ahead of their times, with TikTok and Kpop fans community growing like now, Bad Boy would have just blown up organically

Yeah it’s unfortunate but oh well. They’ve still become one of the biggest kpop girl groups ever which no one could’ve predicted in like 2016 :coffee2: a lot of odds were against them but they still thrived. And with their longevity nobody can really dispute that now

All they need is a U.S label and some international promotions. It's ridiculous that they have 4x Gold eligible singles in the USA but no label to claim it.

A world tour with some stops in Europe and Americas would be perfect for them. They still have so much untapped potential, even as a 9 year old group

member OUT of the lineup, BULLYING allegations, reputation COMPLETELY DESTROYED in Korea, ZERO cfs, boring music allegations, Fearless dropping in charts and getting STOMPED ON by Attention and Hypeboy, IVE PAK, they had ONE CHANCE to make history and they TOOK it!

the person who makes that video saying they want to “remove the halo effect” around them :dies:  exposing celebrities especially idols in an industry like this does absolutely nothing for the betterment of them :skull:

If Stayc can bounce back.  Aespa will.  This cb will be huge I fear.

twice is a korean group which is also active in korea, and from what i can see, jyp is paying for their promo in korea so they can be successful here and you're telling me it doesn't matter if they don't even chart in the top 100? hence losing all the investments made domestically?

and for your information it's literally stupid to compare circle points with actual streams because circle points are reflecting money and not streams :rip: 600M = 600 million wons. gao,n / circle made it clear multiple times that it was a revenue charts and not portraying actual streams

groups like aespa or itzy have literally grossed millions of dollars in korean digitals alone :ducky:

The point of K-pop is to have global appeal. Korean promo is not just meant to promote to the Korean public or else it wouldn’t be uploaded to global YouTube. Plenty of groups don’t bring in much money from domestic digitals - only 1/3 of 4th gen girl groups have even charted and I don’t believe any fourth gen boy group has even hit 1B digital points. But those groups are all still active and actively promoting because they make their money from touring, event promotions, appearances, sponsorships, endorsements, album sales and global streaming.

Circle themselves are the ones who certify streams when a song hits about 600M digital points. Using simple logic, we can see that 600M digital points is equivalent to 100M streams. Of course, we know that 100M streams can bring in different levels of revenue on different services, but 600 million won is only about $450k. That’s good extra revenue, but it’s not making up a significant portion of costs, especially after royalties are paid out.

Here’s a good example for ITZY and Aespa. Both ITZY and Aespa have less than 3B digital points (meaning they’ve made less than $2.276M from years of promotions and title tracks). ITZY have sold 3.7M Korean physicals (equivalent to $37M) and Aespa have sold 2.6M (equivalent to $26M). ITZY have made $2.3M+ from just five reported shows on their tour. Clearly you can see that domestic digitals are nice to have on top of everything, but they don’t amount to much. Even when T-ARA were digital queens at the peak of digital sales, they weren’t making money from digitals.

TWICE continues to understand the assignment :clap3: I still see Formula of Love as their magnum opus, but Ready To Be has some great songs, and overall I like it more than Between 1&2.

Not Nature coming back already after serving quirky CVNT with Limbo :jonny5: getting right out the way of the April bloodbath too

Crazy to think that there are only like 8 3rd gen GGs left. I need Oh My Girl or Weki Meki to do something before they get forever shelved next
