BEP kinda the timbaland of K-pop if we really think about it, however i kinda hate the probable concept shift they're gonna take following this success, i need them to release more CVNT excellency and less suger high beats for kids, So Bad still feels like crack to me. :jamming:

This is crazy to me cause to me Hyunjin doesn't look that different, it's not like he came back with a new different face

Anyways some of y'all are truly doing too much on Hyunjin, like it's not like he's Jungwoo or Yeonjun kinda botched. I honestly do not see a big difference.

Maybe you guys are right but I just MISS MY HUSBAND :jonny5:

You guys can't convince me he still looks the same idk

stayc alienating their international fanbase

I disagree. I think STAYC is a rare case where their international fans like the same music from them as their korean fans

also they are truly a group of 6 distinct personalities and vocal flavors, so all of their fans just love hearing them on GOOD songs regardless of the genre. if we want to talk groups that have zero filler members, STAYC is on that list.

stayc alienating their international fanbase for greater domestic support with these kid bopz’d twice lite song is kinda genius.

bep saw twice ditching them to pander to the western market and decided to put those demos to good use

I mean it was the right decision considering they would never reach huge heights if they pursued international success

Just keep going kcon in LA and promoting that way STAYC :rip:

I don't think they'll 100% switch to kidz crack. their voices can pull off pretty much any pop song. also they're obviously going to have more mature sounds as they grow up

I don't think that's the case, Teddy Bear only has 6,2M streams on Spotify :doc: My fear is that this is gonna be a Sneakers moment for them, meaning a local hit, but it's gonna cost them their international fanbase

it’s been like 3 weeks since their comeback and teddy bear still has a long way to go to reach 10kk

also their yt videos are down all across performances, fancams even video likes (the mv doesn’t count because of the ads but still the likes decreased dramatically)

yeah and without individual member recognition it could be tough for them. but still, if they keep gettin a hit per year they’ll be off great till their contracts end

they never had a big international fanbase like itzy though nnn

i think their international stats will depend on the type of song they release since most of their streams come from casual listeners

they were pulling these numbers last year like they were stomping for a non big 4 group

tbh this is one of the best reactions they’ve done in ages because it’s not just like, plain stanning the way some of their recent stuff has been

Birthday is still such a confusing decision for a title track but idk it’s fun and I enjoy it for what it is, mess and all. definitely down near the bottom of the list for me tho

I still love how they dissected FMR as they all study classical music

Only then you realize how GENIUS the sample is :clap3:

There might be a little change, but it's not drastic at all :dies:

I'm kinda glad that the other members didn't go under the knife like Hyunjin and Felix did though (Both Hyunjin and Felix still look good though).

SKZ for Nacific or whatever it is, get that yogurt bag kings :clap3:The way they are not serving twink, but actual MEN :clap3: They need to serve something like this for their upcoming comeback :WAP:

How is one song gonna cost StayC their entire international fanbase though? That’s a bit extra.

Itzy was a completely different case as their quality had dropped significantly but they still had goodwill and less competitors during Not Shy, MITM and Loco but that was all thrown away with Sneakers.

Besides we know that cutesy songs like Teddy Bear tend not to do as well WW. They can bounce back  :michael:

When they don’t do well in Korea people mock them now they’re flopping internationally and people act it’s the end of the world
BEP got what they wanted they never cared about international success

stayc never had a big international fanbase lol they just have many casual listeners meaning the international stats will depend on the song. they are yet to reach 100m streams on spotify and YouTube, their album sales keep growing tho so they will be completely fine.

I was actually also about to point out that he's serving Park Bom with the fillers, but thought it was maybe too mean so I kept it to myself :deadbanana4:

tbh their review of FMR is part of why Birthday was a bit of a letdown to me in sampling classical again - using different sections of the Bach made FMR so much more dynamic yet cohesive vs Birthday just using the same bit of the Gershwin with little relation to the chorus which makes it feel disjointed to me

I think they kind of overplayed the classical sample angle. FMR shined because it was unique and done in a fresh way that elevated the original sample.

The song blew up and set a classical/strings sampling trend last year.

But then SM did it again in Japan with Marionette (WILDSIDE B-side), then again with Birthday and then again with Bye Bye (Birthday B-side). These samples weren't bad (especially Marionette) but it was giving overkill kinda.

When you set trends you also need to know when to let them go in favor of new ones. Birthday would have possibly been better if they made it a rockier song (same with aespa's Girls actually).

need them to make the 7th sense unit a fixed unit too :bird:
