Again people don’t stream their mv but they stream their audios. OMG audio has 50M views. NJ mv are just too long and they have to many versions.

For example

59M views video length 6 minutes

55M views audio 2,27 minutes

however I agree let’s stop acting YouTube is irrelevant it’s not in some countries it’s the most used platforms especially in Korea. :cm:

Sunday things. All k-pop songs jump on Sunday, even re-enter charts, but then drop on Monday.

o wow, so basically getting less streams on Sunday just the same way as all songs on the charts? :flower: they will rebound in streams tomorrow, but maybe drop in positions

I know that’s why I found it funny. It was a joke

what the hell happened to this group. They had Wa Da Da, had some success then completely changed their sound to be a generic z list group

The line up is a mess and Wake one is cheap and can’t pick a good song for them. Xiaoting and Hikaru deserve better. Most of the members are bland af starting with Yujin, Mashiro and the most boring and undeserving center ever Chaeyoung or whatever her name is.
Lowkey glad they are flopping bc mnet and the Koreans disrespected the global trainees so much :coffee2:

Not YouTube views? In the age of TikTok? :bibliahh:Never change ATRL

Anyway I'm glad k-pop (and the whole world) already moved on from those inorganic mass replaying of YouTube MVs to snatch the "most views in 24 hours" or something :rip: So pointless

Sales and Spotify streams >>>

how is mass streaming on spotify anymore impressive than youtube :deadbanana4:

Both are manipulatable with Youtube Ads vs. Streaming Playlisting

They're one in the same. Just different generations.

Episode 3 is looking great. You know, I don't mind aespa doing this season thing with new villains and stuff but... Let's keep the title track listenable with relatable lyrics and just use a b-side (a really good one) for the lore stuff and promote both songs, ofc the b-side in a lower scale. Also, they need to stop being so late with the episodes

THATS ALL IM ASKING :jonny:

Keep the concept but pls for the love of god don’t make the title lyrics 100% lore about “defeating enemy in KWANGYA after synk out from the FLAT” like what the actual **** :deadbanana2:

Yeah, it seems like people are only checking for their music and doesn't care for the members at all :skull: Truly the most successful faceless group in Kpop history (does this sound mean, how can I word it nicely? :skull:)

You’re literally making no sense when the members are all pretty popular domestically and internationally. Besides if nobody was checking for them they wouldn’t be the only 4th gen girl group with two 1M sellers (besides Itzy)

And even then putting aside all the brand deals they’ve gotten individually…

Just bc they’ve garnered an organic following rather than a fandom focused on fraudulent YT streams in an age where people don’t watch music videos doesn’t mean they are faceless :rip:

Most of the members are under 18... do you think most of KTRL will be actively seeking out this group when most are years older than the girls :rip:

Minji literally just ranked no.1 in idol brand recognition... seems like a faceful girl group to me!

I did say that people are checking for their music, but not the members individually like they do with ITZY, aespa, GIDLE, IVE, LE SSERAFIM etc.

Nobody is checking for anyone in Gidle let’s start there. Second of all IVE???? Maybe you mean they’re checking for member. As of 2022 nobody’s checking for Itzy nor their members besides Yuna. And I don’t see what’s different about LSF and NewJeans popularity individually

This what Sana and Tzuyu could’ve ended. Jype you will never see the light

People really think YouTube = ads Spotify = organic when Spotify is even worse because most of the songs rely on playlists and auto play:bibliahh:

The big problem is also when people are trying to downplay YouTube as if it isn't a big deal, and trying to take away what other groups have achieved over there (Twice for example), and only claiming that Spotify is relevant since their faves are not doing that great on YouTube. (Though TWICE is also smashing on Spotify, but you get what I mean)

of course YouTube is still a big deal but it’s no secret that everyday more and more user base is moving to premium streaming like Spotify(this is not true for third world countries of course), so we gotta move with the times. And as I said before, some artists have specific type of listeners or audience that might use one platform more than the other based on their sound, marketing etc. Therefore, NewJennies doing better on Spotify than YouTube isn’t anything to pull our hair out for.
Now those people outright downplaying YouTube views are obviously trying to push their own agenda for their own faves so I’d not take them too seriously.

do you listen to kpop groups because of music or personality?

who cares whether they are "faceless" or not, the quality is there and that's all that matters

The views on their audios are kinda huge tho

Attention 104M

Hype boy 134M

OMG 56M

Oh wow I didn’t know this.

also, if we count all the MV versions of Hype Boy, they have 130M+ from those alone. So yeah, people are obviously consuming them.

I doubt this is true, Pink Venom was a #1 hot shot debut on TTH, it was playlisted really well by Spotify

glad we came to the conclusion that the stats are there and NewJeans Spotify, Apple Music and Korean services streams, YouTube views match their sales and vice versa!

thank you for bringing that topic up!

Posted (edited)

Anyways I can't believe all this havoc was created just because I was bringing up the fact that NewJennies' YT views are horrible compared to their Spotify streams, like it wasn't supposed to be dragged on for so long I swear :toofunny3:

Also I never claim that their Spotify streams were fake or anything, just that it was very weird :fish2:

Like it isn't nothing especially compared to the amount of horrible things and accusations y'all are writing about groups like BP, TWICE, ITZY, aespa, RV etc. in here daily :rip: Some of y'all are truly bandwagoners I swear :rip:
