To give it a chance I listened to it again and...I feel like Itzy releasing this type of English music is exactly what got them knocked down in the first place. I dunno the song just feels to kidzbop to me.

 

If they didn't have Kaylee in the group they could have been given more mature songs that suit them. Then again I don't know if JYP has another miss A -style bop in him anymore.

The Thai instrumental part has me gagged every and each time

It wouldn’t have fit Itzy. But if the lyrics were in Korean with a kpop mv, it would have sound so much better! Like the structure is already kpop

ENHYPEN do not exist outside of their niche fanbase who does heavy bulk buys and uses Stationhead to boost Spotify streams, like most male groups. Girl groups, as we can see, are reliant on the general public to invest in their music. It makes the consumption of girl groups look significantly less than male groups because the small dedicated fanbases use certain manipulation tactics to make their oppas look bigger.

 

Let me help you comprehend - TWICE and BP are the most successful overall female groups in terms of album equivalents. If you combine their numbers, they’re at 40M units. NCT has sold 32M pure albums and are about to surpass 40M units total. Would anyone in their right minds say that NCT are even half as recognizable or impactful as either of those girl groups, let alone bigger than both?

There used to be a time when an idol could snatch one if they were big enough. Though they were usually reserved for actors.

I love this unit    I think my favorite songs and choreography from them will always be these two though

 

Wave is my probably my #1 but I love Moonwalker so much. It's a simple chorus but I'm obsessed with the chorus, it's so fun

And this song wasn't as crazy and upbeat as those from the tweet but this one had a fun and quirky MV last year. Unfortunately too many fans are wanting "serious" concepts these days and quirkiness is dying out bc of this. Even having some dumb fun lyrics gets groups dragged these days bc it's not serious enough

 

 

For BGs, the BSS subunit delivers some quirkiness though not on the level of the tweet either. And I'm just now realizing I am just listing 2nd/3rd gen subunits    Yea its over
