This is actually kinda really sad and pathetic to me I don't know why

Korean government needs to worry more about fixing the issues in their country and less about using kpop to make themselves look good to powerful white rich people

the day korean government starts fixing their national issues, is the day the world ends

Rosé: Collecting an award for climate advocacy

Also Rosé: flying all the way to Seoul just to have her roots bleached and then leaving right after

This might be their best English version of a song ever, Div3 ate that one thing

Not quite sure what the point of this album was though

They win because they actually attended, they just had to find something and that 2021 video is everything they got lol

Many celebrities have alright refused to attend or entertain any event related to Kings Charles III

It's just what it is :michael:

No, it’s legitimately kind of baffling. :skull: Chivalry honors are usually reserved for the most outstanding of British natives, and the majority of them spend their lives aspiring to receive one. Even less rewarding to international figures. BP, about as popular as Holly Willoughby in the UK with no real hits, receiving a rank has me in tears.

I get that it’s purely politically-driven motive to further enforce relations between the UK and S. Korea, but it’s still a trip.

Sometimes I realize that it kinda makes sense for some people to think that Kpop is a joke

Just as I thought....... LMAO!

So happy that I am very much leaving behind my kpop days. This new era is the most despicable it has ever been, it's insane.

Something is deeply wrong with both this industry and the psychos whomst call themselves "fans". These idols are literally fodder at this point, no humanity just complete obedience and self inserts, god forbid any of them are living breathing mortals that have a functioning existence.

That acc that has been harassing that boy and that website must be beyond empowered now, they are not going to stop and now feel even more emboldened to continue with whatever the hell it is they are doing and taking new harassers and trolls who feel like they too can also terrorize idols with them, Jesus.

I am someone that truly does not care about any of these idols, like I will never see myself as a fan, but I think the culture shock is really getting to me. So many men in that industry can abuse and do actual heinous sh't and nothing happens to them, but god forbid any of these idols have a life that isn't all about being a product to their company and a toy to their "fans"

Sick as hell and yeah I can't support none of that anymore, I am praying for this industry to finally collapse as it should, it already feels like an inflated bubble and the only things keeping it alive being the photocard industry, streaming farms and saesangs. There is no "it boy/girl/group" it's all marketing. If any of these illusions collapse it's over and i truly hope and pray that it does.

Being real Kpop does feel more soulless than it's ever been.

Second gen had some REALLY sketchy **** happening, some of which has recently or is just coming to light now.

But at the very least it did kind of feel like the idols were allowed to be somewhat human.

Or am I remembering that wrong?

I think for as ****** up as Korean culture in general is, things are worse now because the very idea of humanity has been taken out of Kpop, leaving behind hollow, disposable husks in an inhuman industry not even attempting to pretend to care about anything related to art or cultural production.

It's hard to completely disconnect oneself if you've been a fan for a long time but I can see why some people are lowkey dropping kpop.

Maybe the BBC should do a documentary like they did to Japan's Johnny's Entertainment and just blow the lid wide open....

Yeah, nobody takes this seriously. It's hollow and empty.

Keep in mind King Charles and the monarchy are struggling to stay relevant in an era and country that doesn't see the need for them anymore (or actively hates them). They think being connected to Kpop might score them points with 'the youth'. King Charles and Camila are racist as hell (fitting giving Britain's history as a violent colonial empire) so they were probably shading Korea and Kpop/Blackpink behind their backs and laughing at this whole thing when they weren't in earshot.

Korea of course is desperate for any international clout they can get to feel like one of the 'big boys' on the world's stage, no matter how hollow and unserious that clout is. They'll puff their chests out and still brag as if it makes them a big player to get acknowledged by a rich white country. Of course, Kpop is their main way to do this, which just makes them look all the more unserious and ridiculous.

Blackpink and clout are like peanut butter and jelly. Their whole careers have been about being successful high-class influencers who are seen with the rich and powerful, and how that opens more doors for them to be seen with more rich and powerful people while thus becoming more rich and powerful themselves. At this point, this group serves no other purpose and contributes nothing of cultural worth.

If Blackpink is with YG, their ability to be successful high class influencers will help the YG brand and make them money.

Everybody wins, except Kpop because people start to see what a shallow joke it can be.

I feel like I am now just appreciating the harmonies in this song and 1:17 was a little magical when it's isolated like this
