Same cannot be said for EXO (started to decline drastically after only 5 years).
Hitchhiker Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 NingNing leaving for China already I get it

They went to the same academy. Helen was also recently confirmed to still be in SM. So the previous rumor that she left and went to YG are disproven (though she could have left SM and came back, like Lami). I guess she missed out on aespa, but maybe she will debut in this new SM GG. She's also in contact with Naeun, so both are rumored to be considered for the final line up. (Similar to how Karina (Jimin) and Ningning were heavily rumored).

joysaiyo Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 3rd gg competition was nothing compared to 4th gen. Ive vs NJs vs LSRFs vs aespa vs Itzy vs Baemon vs SMNGG you can throw NMIXX in if you want Nobody is safe, remember when Itzy was a thing in 2019 with Dalla Dalla, then aespa snatched it with mega hit Next Level, then Ive came out with Eleven/Love Dive, and HYBE jumped in occupying the charts right now. Meanwhile, we got EXO vs BAP vs NUEST at the beginning of 3rd gen, then BTS, Seventeen, and Wanna One. Now we're stucked with Stray Kids vs TXT

Idk how she manages to have that energy and positivity despite being so hated everyday, doing a thousand different gigs everywhere, losing so much weight and sleep etc etc. But girlie still does it. the other 4th gen girls just don’t match her energy. she’s currently untouchable.
Zack Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Very concerned that they're still having A&R/production meetings...I want to be proved wrong but....doesn't look like this album is coming soon But on the plus side, it looks like Warner is wanting to be more involved in choosing aespa's music/direction. Apparently, this will increase when SM puts aespa into a division etc.
Hitchhiker Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Bragging about fans purchasing albums that they are not listening to anywhere is hilarious, EXO are musicians not clown acts that spend more time in surgery rooms than in studios. anyways The “highest sales of a repack album” group on Spotify right 4.13M ML The group with no album in almost two years on Spotify now: 4.493ML Less jaw shaves more good music next time 🫶🏼

Dr Bebe was knowing a reversal on the charts when cube decided to stop the promotion for the song to promote Shower Of Rain (Like imagine I-DLE last year seeing My Bag and Tomboy smashing but cube decide to scrap all the promotion and decide to make them promote Villain Dies Instead). The album ended selling quite good. Both We:Th (which has Daisy as title track aka their biggest song since Shine), and Love or Take (released in 2020 & 2021) were their biggest album in Korea while Invite:U was their biggest album internationally. Their popularity is kind there, but the problem is their fanbase isn't made of typical Kpop fans especially in Korea... Now the bigger issue is how PENTAGON will handle survival shows, promoting overseas with how they keep getting booked in all kind of shows all over Europe and promote their album. Thanks for clearing up. Pentagon chance of contract renewal seems unpredictable with the way how Cube treat their previous artists and them getting overlooked by typical Kpop fans (very likely only Shine being their biggest hit + the Dawn quit on their mind when asked about Pentagon).

newaespa Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Gfad or whatever their subunit, made a comeback and it made absolutely zero noise ONCE AGAIN too

AL biggest peak was on their 2nd week too.
Dialamba Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Ive two songs in melon top 10 right now. Somehow they always win

Nobody cares about digital hits with boy groups anymore, this is more proof how out of touch EXO-Ls are (stuck in 2017 etc). I mean, we're 5 years-ish into the 4th gen and we only got the first 4th generation boy group hit last week with Sugar Rush Ride. Reality is that NCT 127's last album sold 2 million copies, while EXO's sold 1.3m (and that was largely only due to the desperate addition of green screen'd Lay). EXO went from selling 1.5m to 800k in less than 12 months.

Besides in the long run, Ditto is gonna outlast AL.
