Biggest K-pop tour confirmed I think :foxaylove2: Where's miss Century who said BP can't compare in tour sales or something

2015 was such an iconic year for SNSD :clap3: SM and the girls really had a point to prove and they did it flawlessly. Shame they didn’t do a world tour. Their stage presence was IT after some weak years. :gaycat7:

Not really comparable, since they lost popularity and sales when they cut down to 8 members.

And Party and Lion Heart only stayed in the top 10 for 3 weeks, not 12 like Feel My Rhythm, so not really the same level of smashing. RV's sales also went up, not down in their 8th year :michael:

How am I the one with "Selective criteria" I am just going by your logic, if TWICE's comeback was so awaited because it sold 1M then sure Ateez comeback was very very long awaited too, considering they are selling on par with TWICE:cm:

Wtf are you even talking about at this point :deadbanana2: who said anything about Ateez and how are they even comparable to Twice :rip: these people are losing it I swear. Come back when you’ve gone and read your own post.

I dont know what Weeekly company is thinking with that like is it really so hard to release the type of Apink songs since Apink sounds now is mature?

Weeekly fits perfectly to what Apink was before and there's still a group that needs to fill that spot :deadbanana4:

The sad part is eeek was the unopposed rookie of 2020 and went on to waste 3 years of their youth trying not to be what apink was 10 years previously.  But I guess that's to be expected when the management that gave us the Fiestar debacle got the upperhand in the merger.

I didn’t even mention Red Velvet. :rip: And nope their sales actually improved both digitally and physically from the Mr. Mr. era. The way you always have to lie to drag SNSD, embarrassing :bibliahh:

let's see how many flops and hits red velvet all these years

Happiness- FLOP 7 weeks

Be Natural- BOMB 1 week

Automatic- BOMB 2 weeks

Ice Cream Cake- DECENT HIT 17 weeks

Dumb Dumb- NORMAL HIT 28 weeks

One of These Nights- FLOP 5 weeks

Russian Roulette- SMASH HIT 37 weeks

Rookie- NORMAL HIT 28 weeks

Red Flavor- SMASH HIT 64 weeks

Peek-a-boo- NORMAL HIT 26 weeks

Bad Boy- SMASH HIT 31 weeks

Power Up- NORMAL HIT 21 weeks

Really Bad Boy- FLOP 9 weeks

Zimzalabim- FLOP 12 weeks

Umpah Umpah- FLOP 10 weeks

Psycho- SMASH HIT 50 weeks

Queendom- NORMAL 28 weeks

Feel My Rhythm- SMASH HIT 43 weeks *still counting

Birthday- BOMB 3 weeks

I'm just counting all the weeks they have charted on circle (previously gaon) and their totals would not make sense to compare since the point have been declining as years go by.

Looking at these, there's only 8 RV singles that flop digitally, note that I'm only talking about their performance in Korean charts because if it's internationally, Bad Boy and Pyscho will be their smash hits. I'm not really worried that Birthday flopped digitally since it's been proven that red velvet can bounce back:gaycat4:

You responded to a post referencing Red Velvet, try to look back at what you're posting.

As for SNSD, their sales after 2014 declined, despite the Korean market increasing.

IGAB 320k > Mr. Mr. 175k > Lion Heart 165k. Mr. Mr. was a mini, LH a full album. Their sales on Oricon also fell down. There's nothing to "lie" about, these are the numbers.

Conversely, RV has been giving Queendom 400k > FMR 700K > Birthday 1M, so I agree with the post you quoted...

How is Happiness a decent hit and Russian Roulette and Dumb Dumb are Normal hits? :skull: RR is their 2nd most successful single in Korea until Feel My Rhythm

I quoted the member because SNSD also had hits in their 8th year just like Wonder Girls and Apink. I didn’t compare them to Red Velvet’s career trajectory, idk why you’re doing it, they are from different generations and their careers are not similar at all.

Lion Heart 165k > Holiday Night 178k > Forever 1 292k.

So no, their popularity didn’t decline because they lost a member like you said. They were already declining in 2014 when Jessica was in, which is natural because it’s was their 7th year. Lion Heart was a bigger era than Mr. Mr. and so was Forever 1, Jaw made no impact sorry :michael:

No, none of this disproves anything I said. Lion Heart (full album with 3 title tracks) 165k is less than Mr. Mr. (mini with 1 title track) 175k and the remaining sales quoted show their popularity never fully recovered or repeaked, despite your protestations. It plateaued in 2015-2017 following which they went on half a decade hiatus.

I think we know there's not much more you've got to say, when you are forced to wheel out the same old "but Jaw..Jaw!!! Jaw!!!" response. :dies:

This is a terrible argument because SNSD didn’t have the entrance of China to the market nor did they have a ton of different versions to boost their sales.

IGAB underperformed with 320k because it had 1 standard edition and 9 ridiculously limited versions. Mr. Mr. had only one version. Lion Heart, Holiday Night and Forever 1 each only had two versions. The entire market declined as Japanese and Chinese nationalism grew and they began to ban the sale of K-pop albums.

Queendom had 3 versions. Feel My Rhythm had 3 versions. Birthday had 17 versions.

Let’s not lie to ourselves. And Jessica is a bigger asset in 2023 than she ever has been thanks to her massive popularity surge in China. Honestly, if SNSD launched in 2023 they would be doing 3M with how popular YoonA, Jessica and Taeyeon were in China :jonny5:

Let's not act like 10k is that much of a difference.  :rip:

Besides, Lion Heart had more downloads than Mr. Mr. (even if it spent less weeks in the top 10).

I do agree that Lion Heart was a better era than Mr. Mr. At the very least is on the same level (success wise).

Also, SNSD were way past their peak/best years (2009-2011). Even IGAB, which did very good, was a decline from The Boys. The girls weren't going to reach a new peak, even if Jessica was still on the group imo.

You’re so dumb omg, their popularity never recovered but Holiday Night and Forever 1 OUTSOLD Mr. Mr.? And Lion Heart and Forever 1 were bigger hits than Mr. Mr.? And during the Mr. Mr. era, Jawssica was STILL there:bibliahh:Make sense, make sense.

Tbh that is Red Velvet biggest strength(so far). Bouncing back.

I really believed they were done (in the digital charts) during RBB-Zimzalabim-UU flopage. I think that was exactly 1 calendar year of back to back flops.:deadbanana:

They didn’t have to serve their best and most difficult choreo at their 8th year but they did :WAP:. CMIYC is such an underrated moment in Kpop, it would be MASSIVE if it was released after 2018.

NewJeans deserve all the payola tbh

as long as they keep releasing quality I won't mind it at all

payola only works if people actually like the media because other companies are using the same payola but not getting the same results. look at SM lmao.
