Gidle seems popular as a group but have no relevance outside of their group name.

both Soyeon and Miyeon tanked with solos. I don’t think people actually care about them outside of their novelty songs. Since tomboy they’ve been very gimmicky with the songs which is great for digital success but no one is going “Yas gidle is my fave group”

MOTS: 7 is at 5,037,554 sales FML is at 4,601,656 while 5 star preoder is at 4.9m :hoetenks:

STRAY KIDS :clap3:

And there's "just" around 900k from China. The way they would get over 4M pre orders regardless the cbars is INSANE

will be nice to see if skz will also end up charting decently in korea since this time seventeen has managed to bag an actual stable top 10 song on melon but idk skz is still nugu in Korea much more than enhypen... :rip: it's gonna be weird how they have like 4.9m sales internationally but cant even enter top 100 on their own home country :deadbanana4: ive never seen a much bigger disparity of popularity in kpop

Using accumulated career stats make me sense when newjeans shat down the throats of every other 4th gen gg with their two releases

Those pre-orders are ridiculous. The fact that they don’t correlate with the actual popularity of the group makes them more insane

Also they aren't from a big company. It's an uphill battle for them.

Proof that everyone doesn’t need a solo career tbh. Some are better when part of a sum.

And, from their groups, Stray Kids is the act they have the least amount of credits for :dies: they were lucky to have a trainee like Bang Chan

These numbers seem so unreal. It's not that I dont believe them, but – I don't get how an artist in Korea could move millions of preorders, when an artist from the USA, a country with a much higher population, can't.

Not even Adele can pull that anymore. It’s Chinese fans who mass buy

Truly the biggest k-pop in japan. Misamo’s debut will be a collapse.

Nothing wrong with that. Not everyone needs an It girl.
+ it was before Tomboy let’s be real they will chart better since they’re much more bigger right now

ITZY is at 3.9M physicals, 1.947B Spotify, 2.136B YouTube and ~2.5B Circle points. Yes their career has stalled, but they’re still on top until literally tomorrow when IVE ships their WAVE EP. It’s crazy to see how quick you girls are to turn your backs on them just because newer groups came out.

sis i don’t think people really care about physical sales when it comes to GG rankings, esp when GIDLE debuted before the big sales boom

(G)-IDLE’s sales were bad because they just didn’t hit it big yet and their label didn’t invest in the physicals. Their two Japanese EPs combined didn’t touch 13k units and they saw stagnation pretty early in (I Made and Dumdi Dumdi were both declines). They didn’t hit it big until YuQi started promoting in China, which lead to increased relevance in Asia.

Y’all need to let go of the myth that physicals don’t matter. Yes there is heavy dependence on fan interaction and the labels can help manipulate them by releasing extra versions, but that’s no different than how fans and labels manipulate singles charts.

Ah yeah I forgot about IVE’s streak. I think they’re gonna be the one to break SISTAR’s record.

For sure. Wonyoung’s career is legendary. She’s 18 and she’s already sold 7.5M albums across her two groups and over 4B digital points.

It’s an overall assessment of the 4th gen determined by an amalgamation of physicals and Circle digital points, I believe. Not current standing in 2023.

I really did not think it was such a hard concept that it would need to be explained to those girls, but thank you :clap3:

The sales for boy groups are rising but none of them are giving us major hits..

Like, are we going to see an 1mil increase every year? :biblio:

Hopefully EXO-L's do their job and put that bulk buying money into some promo. (Specifically chinese EXO-Ls. The korean ones are too busy buying protest trucks.)

Kpop fans evaluating artist's success based on who's having a bigger hit is insane. Its like saying Miley is bigger than Taylor and SZA because Flowers is the bigger hit :rip:

Stray Kids have albums with over 600/700M and almost 900M streams. This is more than 99% of K-pop groups, without needing casual K-pop stans' fickle approval. They won.
