The real total sales is much higher because SNSD peaked at the peak of digital sales. I double checked Twice and for some reason I thought Fancy sold 1m. I was wrong. So SNSD's physical album didn't actually sell 1 million? And why would you think Fancy You sold 1 million when they weren't selling half that amount before that.

SNSD sold 1m+ physical copies of their first Japanese album and this as been certified by authorities. They also moved a monstrous amount of digitals back in those days on top of that million. As for Twice, it’s well over half a mil and I must have assumed they had a million seller because their career totals are so much more impressive than Stink’s.
getinthezone Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 GIRLS' GENERATION 1st Week Sales (Oricon): 231,553 copies sold Total Sales in Japan (Oricon): 872,401 copies sold with a rerelease btw

As long as you’re using: Gaon vs RIAJ Oricon vs Hanteo not Oricon vs Gaon so if you’re saying BP is first to sell 1M based on Gaon but using oricon instead of RIAJ for Japan then it’s apples and oranges. Gaon counts shipments and not actual albums sold Edited March 23, 2023 by Gaia

Zack Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 Just now, Century said: Again it’s million certified. This number is inaccurate. The number is accurate. Oricon is actual sales. RIAJ certifies based on total shipments sold to retailers, the same as Circle in Korea. SM sold a million copies of the album to Japanese stores, but the Oricon number is what the Japanese stores sold to actual customers in Japan. It's a huge achievement whichever way it's looked at, especially as Japan was much more closed to Korean media at that time.
WeFoundWill Posted March 23, 2023 Posted March 23, 2023 With BP being so involved with Baby Monsters debut and lowkey co creating them I can see YG pulling this again

One of their best albums too.

Hazy Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I wonder if YG is pissed at Twice getting stadiums in US before BP that company deserves it for the years of mismanagement watch him announce the encore in May/June next week but I actually think they will reveal it after Coachella
