Ok then, we will pretend that having FOUR different covers for every single format is normal and standard for EVERY.SINGLE.ARTIST… like LOL

You really gonna pretend that she is not doing it to milk those fans that will probably buy up to 12 or 13 (just writing it… God) different versions of the SAME cd…

Anyway, there is no bigger blind that the one that doesnt want to see…

insane numbers after all, we all agree on that

That’s enough out of you. Suffer in silence.

She does these huge numbers nowadays and yet she doesn't feel as big as she was during 1989 or Reputation. :rip:

Her fanbase is a cult because there's no other way. :skull:

Appealing to as many people as possible with your art is literally the entire goal of artists. Why say “accessible” as though thats a negative trait.

Maybe that depends on where you’re from because in Europe she’s much bigger now.

Pretty sure Midnights will have longevity like every other Taylor Era, Taylor has never been dependent on her first week sales for longevity even before the streaming Era so no her fanbase isn't a "cult" :coffee2:

It's too soon to tell what Midnights's overall sucess will be so let's not do hasty judgments ok? Just because it probably won't be as successful as 1989 doesn't mean it couldn't possibly come close. We'll have to see.

Also, Taylor fans ARE part of the GP, it's not Taylor's fault most of your/our faves can't come close to have a fanbase as big as her's. You sound kind of bitter honestly.

girl i've been a swiftie for more than 10 years, move on

It's 4 different cover CDs, 4 different cover and color vinyl (yes, vinyl, "vynil" isn't a word), the lavender CD and vinyl (that are literally Target's) and 1 cassette.

That's 11 "variants" between the 3 formats.

Now, the tea is: 5 vinyl versions is less than Katy Perry's Smile (5 picture discs, red vinyl, cream vinyl, custard vinyl, blue vinyl, 7 CDs, etc), Ariana Grande's Positions (3 cassette, clear vinyl, glow in the dark vinyl, spring green vinyl, coke bottle clear vinyl, deluxe clear/pink vinyl, 3 covers CDs, deluxe CD, etc), Gaga's Chromatica (CD, deluxe CD, target CD - deluxe and target are different -, clear vinyl, milky clear vinyl, silver vinyl, picture disc, deluxe trifold vinyl and neon yellow vinyl, 4 cassette I believe, etc).

She's NOWHERE above the curve with amount of album formats and variants, difference is, she can SELL them and some effort is done at least to make each version actually... worth buying.

Oop :clap3:

One second she's only supported by a cult fanbase, suddenly she's the equivalent of the most GP-driven artist out there. It would be time for OTH to make up their mind. :rip:

She's obviously reaching these gargantuan pure sales numbers mainly thanks to her fanbase, but her fanbase is absolutely not big enough to destroy Spotify like that (bear in mind that's TWICE the number of Red TV last year, and Red TV had more songs). She has both a huge fanbase AND strong GP support. She just has it all, hence these numbers.

I would like to request elaboration on what you mean by that. Cause the most accessible and safe thing about Taylor is continuously release quality ALBUMS and be loyal to her fan base despite her series of changes in music genre during the run of her 10 studio albums.

So does that mean when her tour goes on sale, everyone buying tickets will be the GP, since her fans are broke now :gayriahcat2:

NEW RELEASE:
SWIFT VICTORY

Taylor Swift’s Midnights (Republic) is headed for a huge bow. A full-week total in the 1.4m-1.6m range makes Midnights the first album to debut at or past the million mark in the post-bundling era.

This will be Tay's fifth album to debut north of 1m. Full-week streaming projections are now close to 500m and could increase thanks to her 3AM version of Midnights, which includes seven tracks that are unavailable on any of the set's physical versions.

The album has already destroyed the one-week vinyl sales record that Harry Styles set earlier this year. In only its first two days of release, Midnights is fast approaching 500k in vinyl albums alone. That more than doubles the 182k of Styles’ Harry’s House (Columbia) in May.

Meanwhile, as we've noted, Spotify confirms that Tay has broken the first-day record for streams of an album, with 88m U.S. and 185m worldwide. She's also busted first-day records at Apple Music and Amazon Music, where she received the most first day album streams globally of any artist on the platform.

How big will this project get? Does Tay have more surprises in store? Stay tuned for updates as we get our grubby little mitts on more data.
