Just mindblowing. Literally no competition at all.

She will never have a flop era. At least until she's really, really old.

According to initial reports to Luminate, the album, which was released on Oct. 21, has earned more than 1.2 million equivalent album units in the U.S. through its first three days of release (through Oct. 23). Of that sum, traditional album sales comprise more than 955,000 across all available formats (multiple digital album download, CD, vinyl and cassette variants). Vinyl LP sales for the title is nearing 500,000.

I think she’ll probably end up around 1.4-1.5M in the end. 1.6M seems like a stretch but hopefully i’m wrong!

It's not even in the top 100 most streamed songs of the 2000s :deadbanana: Again, Britney selling 1.3M in 2000 when 5/6 other albums debuted with similar or higher figures (it only ranked #4 on the YEC :deadbanana:) is hardly impressive. Not to mention its lead single didn’t have a proper physical/retail release in hopes of drawing attention to the album instead.

What Does Copium Mean in Twitch Chat and Where Did It Originate?

Not too much, it WAS the biggest female debut for a whole 15 years, it was definitely impressive. Taylor couldn't reach it until now despite her getting many YEC #1 albums.

2022 and we're still dealing with the narrative her fanbase are majority teenagers and theres no way adults are buying the albums?

Shes 16 years into her career do you think her fans hit their early 20s and drop of the face of the earth? Of course she's gonna have fans who are now in their 30s buying albums not to mention the amount of hype around this release has built this perfect storm around her career where non fans are curious as to what shes releasing so they're checking it out. Same thing happened with 1989 the only difference is she didn't put any music out beforehand.

Anyways good for her reaching this kind of success again in her career

That LWYMMD Taylor pyramid was an accurate portrayal of her stepping all over her past selves :dies:

I can't believe she may beat her own highest first week sales from a 2014 album in 2022, and beat that record by 200-400k, AND she'll surpass OIDIA if she surpasses 1.319M copies, AND she would double 30's first week if she surpasses 1.678M :jonny5: she just won't stop :jonny5:

If I remember right.  1989 and RED were at around 900k and 800k in their first three days and they both sold 400k over the last four days.  So 1.6m does not seem completely unreasonable.  But I agree.  I am predicting a number closer to 1.4-1.5....that said, I was also predicting 1m-1.1m last week so I should never underestimate taylor.

The higher the numbers the higher the second week drop :clap3:

Taylor does not play to lose...even when she is her only competition.

Yeah this is gonna go just above 1.4M. Sales are already plateauing…. Expecting 1M pure sales and 400k SEA

This is ridiculous. She's got a huge fanbase. Yes, she'll still appeal to teenagers, which is great!

But I'm born in 2000, and grew up with Taylor throughout my teens. I'm now 22 & Taylor is still a huge part of my life in my twenties, and I'm a young 'adult' that buys her albums.
