No one said that was organic lol. Taylor could easily have an organically successful album without the 20+ bundles but she loves money too much and her fans are too gullible to realize they’re being exploited. Her opening with  330k with Evermore (still a great number) really shook her and she’ll never do another organic drop like that.

The bundles and versions, the apple and Spotify payola, the paid reviews… all paid off. I wonder if she’ll break her own first week record.

You do realise Evermore would've opened with Red TV numbers if its physicals were ready to ship upon release, right? Also, where's this Spotify payola you speak of? ROM and SL had bigger playlist reaches than any song from Taylor's last 4 releases. Maybe it's you Gaga stans that need to step out of their bubble:rip:

Oh you're just a fuming OTH at this point :ahh:

And why wouldn't AM and Spotify promote the Queen of Streaming to their users?

The way she end everyone with a 1million debut at the 2020s :jonnycat:

Her numbers are good so congrats, but at the end of the day they're just numbers. Let's try to keep a sense of objectivity. She is still not on the level of ICONIC as Madonna or even Britney.

The way she makes this look easy no wonder the OTH's are angry

Britney has been a musical non factor since 2004. Be serious for a second :rip:

People are INSANE if they think her fanbase alone can get 184m streams in a single day :deadbanana2:

Taylor won the GP back over the last few years, ever since Folklore it has been slayage after slayage. Building up.

Her next studio album can be even bigger since she is in an upward trajectory repeaking.

They even listed bundles, forgetting that bundles no longer count and OTHs' signature excuse before "169 versions!!" was "but Folklore had bundles so it doesn't count!"

God I stan Britney, but Taylor has surpassed her and Madonna.

She’s not more iconic because her image is not sexual or risque, which is one of the reasons why she has never turned the GP completely off lile Britney and Madonna did.

Madonnda and Britney were not debuting with 1 million 16 years into their career. Taylor has a bigger career.

You keep bringing up other pop stars like that has any relevance to this matter. Stop the deflecting. I am talking about factual numbers, not “would have could have” hypotheticals. Taylor’s surprise drop was an attempt at pulling a Beyoncé and it didn’t work. :rip:So she’s not doing that anymore.

And idk what bubble you’re talking about. I’m not under any illusion that Taylor isn’t a massively, phenomenally successful juggernaut and has been for 15 years. You really need help with your anger. You’re so easily triggered.

Sis… rolling stone had their review and the graphic associated with it ready before we even knew the song titles. :rip: Any media outlet that has a review out less than 24 hours after the release is paid for. And this goes for every popstar.

The fuming in this thread :bibliahh: "multiple CD, vinyl and cassette variants", "paid reviews", "Spotify/AM payola", etc. then everyone should be able to achieve these numbers, no? Just accept her success is unparalleled and move on!

No.....publications receive copies of the album from the label to write their reviews for release day. Don't be dense

Let's not, globally she is not Madonna. Madonna was selling 16M copies of her album (Ray of Light) at this stage in her career.

At the end of the day, numbers are an OBJECTIVE metric. What's iconic to you might not be for many others, go ask your dad if he thinks Britney's "iconic".

We’ll see about that, Midnight will probably do around that with adjusted units.

This could be her biggest era yet since it debuted close to 1989 numbers from 2014 in 2022.

Was Folklore (which equalled her previous album's debut with less than 24 hours of pre orders and shattered streaming records globally) not a surprise release now? :deadbanana2: Do you not see how you're clutching at straws here?

Ray of Light is at 21M+ units

Highly doubt Midnights will get there. The streams are massive right now but it'll cool down. There are easy no hits on the album so it's unlikely long-term that a song will stay getting massive streams.

Happy for Taylor, but I will never for the life of me understand why y'all have to put down other female artists and drag other people in this thread in defense of Taylor... Let her success speak for itself. No need to be so toxic. Stan culture is a disease. :toofunny3:

Yes I have, (I did today for the first time and I got rceipts https://www.last.fm/user/iAvrilFan1) but I cannot rank correctly until I listen to it a few more times + read lyrics to see which topics I relate to the most

but one thing is for certain, the song "now I'm all for you like Janet" is definitely Top 3

Bloodflowers.

Keep us updated sis

Girl, I want to be friendly and let you know that you are literally dragging Britney here while making yourself looks foolish:

in a thread about a musician releasing new music and attracting record number of people listening to it, you tell everyone that this is nothing compared to another musician wearing sexy clothes and a python walking around…

just pause and think about it

Evermore had the same release timing as Folklore, is that now not a surprise release? :rip:

I mean at least now they’re actually being honest about their fuming, it’s always been about their subjective opinions of Taylor, it’s just now they literally have no other excuses to use :foxaylove2:
