Characters seem hella flat.  We just came off a run of some of the best video game protagonists of all time in the past few GTA games...this should of been the GTA where you can make your own character for the campaign. 

 

The setting? Beautiful as usual for R*.

 

Not nearly as exciting as GTA 5 or 4 though.

Doubt it, they keep improving their engine a lot by every game release for it, the RAGE engine from IV to VI is insane. Outsold Unreal Engine . Not to mention Read Dead Redemption 1 is on RAGE and so is 2.
