It was leaked and R* actually got spooked and launched it early. 

I've never seen R* this vulnerable before, their tweet straight up said "our trailer was leaked, watch the official upload here"

This is exactly why R* doesn't launch on PC day 1. Imagine they were working on a day 1 PC port and suddenly a month before release someone puts up the game online as a free download.

You should check out Final Fantasy 16 and see if it could keep you busy for 2024

Idk why are yall shocked at 2025, there was no way this was getting released earlier than ~May 2025. They're probably aiming at Q3 2025, but I wouldn't be surprised if they delay it for 2026 knowing them.

 

Anyway, I'm kinda whelmed by the trailer. Mostly because it's so obviously modern day and it just felt like things you'd see on social media; a big part of the appeal of the games is to escape everyday life, this just seemed it'll be same exhausting **** you see on the regular. Dan Houser said a few years ago that it's getting harder and harder to release a GTA with a modern setting because it's though to compete with the absurdity of reality and I can see what he meant, seeing how cartoony and Saints Row-ish the trailer is. 

 

The protagonists seem great, I like that they aged Jason up a bit. Although I don't see how will they differentiate the story from V apart from them being a couple, as this also seems to be about heists and steeling ??

Modern  day is the easiest way for them to bank on the online mode, which I am sure will be the resson we are never getting anything but from GTA
