Visual should be reserved for the much needed third, fourth and fifth single. AS, Heated, VG were great, but they need promo to boost their performance. Imagine B having 5 Top 20 hits this era each spending 20+ weeks. A 3rd, 4th and 5th single? From beyonce? In 2023? To quote the legendary Eartha Kitt: "AHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... stupid!"

www Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 im really perplexed how quickly urban\rhythmic radio dropped this, really weird.

Cbreezy Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 With BMS' success and Cuff It on the cusp of going top 10, I think all involved should be satisfied with her being re-embraced by Pop radio this era more than has been the case for over 10 years. On the one hand, part of me thinks that the push of any further "singles" should be concentrated on Urban/Rhythmic...formats that love her. Songs like Heated and Church Girl scream automatic hits and could do a Drunk In Love by slaying those formats so hard that it almost doesn't need (much) Pop radio support to soar on the Hot 100. She can save her renewed good grace at Pop for whatever "lead" they are going with for the next "act". That said, maybe she should keep the momentum going on Pop with no pausing. It's just that, in being very fickle, they tend to only really get behind when something is viral or has launch buzz. It's hard to generate a spark at Pop with post-album release singles.

If/when it peaks top 10 thwn thats good enough. This is Beys first real streaming hit and the pace is something to be admired. I never really cared about Bey getting streams the fastest. Just something that sticks and this is it. Lord knows I was sick of Halo.

Yeah Renaissance definitely extended her commercial/radio shelf life. And more streaming releases should boost her presence on those platforms as well, with an album or two more her streaming will be better than ever
QueenBLadyG Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 The next Act is most definitely going to be performing better as a whole in all formats.

How? Renaissance was an actual revival for her longevity on the charts, and act ii is rumored to be country. I think most listeners would prefer dance > country

If anything having a country record will help her gain listeners. She will have physicals sorted out this time. Vinyls, too. Not a mess like Act I. Streaming numbers should increase and her radio should still be good considering she's not going to release terrible music.

Not completely, but all the radio formats are not going to align, as they have for this era (if she goes country). Country radio refuses to play more than 2 or 3 women, especially black women. The refusal of the country committee at the Grammys to acknowledge “Daddy Lessons” as a country song is very telling about the industry. I’m certain it’ll be acclaimed, but that won’t even for country radio (ie: Kacey Musgraves won AOTY for her album and they still ignore her music). R&B and hip-hop stations most likely won’t play country tunes Country music is listened to a lot more consumed in the US than any other nation, so I’m not sure if it’ll have the appeal of Renaissance

It may lean more Country but, it will still have elements of R&B/Soul/Bluegrass so hopefully it will have more appeal more various formats. I still can't believe, though I'm not surprised, the country committee didn't acknowledge DL but perhaps with this next endeavor it will be almost impossible to just outright ignore it? Especially if she's authentic in her delivery and performance. If they don't - it won't really matter though. She'll still have her fans to support it in the end. It doesn't make it any less country because everyone would know why it was being ignored and shut out. Here's to hoping it's impressive enough to break barriers.
QueenBLadyG Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Also Rock elements. We need more of that from her on the next Act. I hope she works with Jack White again.

The way I told myself I was tapping out (in satisfaction) once this hit top 10, now these radio numbers have me screaming Rise Cuff Hit, Rise! Don't wanna get greedy or psych self into expecting anything from our frustratingly elusive queen, but a surprise drop for the video or even a promo video using the song to announce the tour could send this much higher (#1 even?)
