just saw her in denver with my best friend and it was an absolutely magical show :heart2: every song was immaculately performed, and we each snatched a long sleeve tee and a hat! she snapped with the merch for sure :loki:

some asshol* ostrich lady standing in front of us told us to “shut the f*ck up” but she didn’t ruin our night, though she tried. my best friend and I bonded over the songs (Picture Me Better in particular) and though she’s not a fan, she really enjoyed herself! I do wish Weyes Blood would’ve performed The Worst Is Done but that’s my only complaint! what a fantastic night this has been

I snatched tickets for the next show in Paris in November. I was so depressed missing her the first time around but I'm glad she's coming back!

I hope she will sing The Worst Is Done too because it's my favorite as well. Your post hyped me up even more, I don't know how she performs live so I don't know what to expect.

I'm just curious, what were you doing to make a lady say something to you

at the beginning of two songs (God Turn Me into a Flower and then Movies), my friend and I whispered to each other about trauma and about how i might cry. which like, yeah, silly Joe vibes. meanwhile, behind us were a crowd of ten or so people laughing loudly right at the bar throughout the show. i think we were just the easiest targets tbh. she was so rude and joyless, like go find somewhere else to stand if you’re gonna be pissy and forgetting that shows are collective experiences. idk. she was one of those older millennials, and her poodle perm was not doing her any favors. also the old dude she was with seemed to want her to calm down, he was enjoying the show and unbothered. at the end of the show, some other older millennial dude came up to my best friend and i and apologized on that lady’s behalf, it was a heartwarming moment

ahhh i saw her too two weeks ago! i’m so jealous you got to see her after the show, but i’m just so happy i finally got to see her after her having to cancel denver in 2020 due to the pandemic :cries: anyway this album is gradually coming into my top 40 of all time lol

i mean what can i say? she absolutely KILLED it :heart2: her voice is such a mindblowingly powerful yet so tranquil  instrument, she sounds like how a cool creek feels on your feet in the summertime right before sunset

aaaa can’t wait to hear what u think!! imo this album and Titanic Rising are both towering baroque pop masterpieces, but they also just really cater to sounds i’ve always loved so i might be biased :eli:

OT: y’all do we think she’ll release another MV soon? I know Wild Time came significantly after the two other MVs last era but i’m impatient and Children of the Empire or The Worst Is Done really deserve one 🥺

Took a break from this album after replaying it so much in Nov/Dec and it's now hitting even harder :jonnycat:

Such a beautiful work that means a lot to me. Also, Grapevine did not used to be one of my favorites but it's now up there and has me in a chokehold with its nostalgic melodies. Back in early March I actually drove through the grapevine, covered in snow at the time, while listening to it. Peak experience.

This album continues to create full circle moments in my life

Its funny to see which songs slip back into my rotation after my obsessed/“honeymoon” phase of listening to this thing in full over winter.

Almost every song I returned periodically, but The Worst Is Done did it for me today. It has been so long since I’ve related to a song of that tone, and it’s because I finally feel more balanced than I have in quite a bit. It feels mature and realistic; life throws one thing at you, you heal it and think that’s it (and you should celebrate that); but there’s always things out of our control around the corner that we have to be ready for. Seems like a well balanced state to be in.

Out of all songs though, God Turn Me Into a Flower just stops time for me. It’s so sacred that I can’t listen to it more than a couple times a month (in fear it will lose its magic); knowing well it’s my favorite.
