Republicans (and Progressives since they're secret Republicans) are foaming at the mouth not knowing how to react to this.

WE MUST BE TOUGH ON CHINA! THEY CAN'T TELL US WHAT TO DO.

PELOSI HAS TO LISTEN TO CHINA AND NOT TO GO TAIWAN BECAUSE IT'LL MAKE THEM MAD!

:ahh: These are the same people who were okay with Trump visiting North Korea and legitimizing its murderous dictator while the US got nothing in return. If the US wants to remain a technological giant in the world, we need Taiwan's manufacturing. We want to bring their chip plants to the US so we need to foster a good relationship before China takes over.

Xi is gonna be big mad. It was important for him to look like he was in control of this situation and Pelosi ignoring his threats shows the opposite. :ahh:

A number of analysts have told the Guardian that a hostile military act from China is unlikely, but that the response was likely to exceed any others in recent years. Some, including senior Taiwanese figures who spoke on condition of anonymity, expected any significant act to occur after Pelosi departed, to avoid a confrontation with US military assets.

Pelosi is only the latest in a long line of foreign delegates to visit Taiwan in recent years, but Beijing took significant exception to her seniority as the speaker of the House, and appeared to disbelieve that the US separation of powers meant Biden had no power to order her not to go.

U.S. goods and services trade with Taiwan totaled an estimated $105.9 billion in 2020. Exports were $39.1 billion; imports were $66.7 billion. Taiwan was the United States' 10th largest goods export market in 2020.

Well, let's see how this goes down.

Gosh.  Leave it to the CCP to make me actually support Pelosi.  I hope she has a good time in the only country in Asia that allows same sex marriage.

:rip: They don't want to mess with the US military. People trying to scream about WWIII not realizing war only happens when one side believes it can win with minimal casualties. A war between China and US would destroy both countries.
