Katy Perry - Never Really Over: Always found this veryyyy overrated. The chorus was nice at first but is annoying to me now, and the post-chorus falls completely flat. I like it less every time I hear it :/

 

Justin Bieber - Ghost: It’s fine, probably one of the better songs on the album. The synthy stuff is cute albeit I find his delivery slightly cringeworthy

 

Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart: Cute enough, but a little (forgivably) generic and forgettable + I'm not always a fan of the way she often tries to force her voice into a register that doesn't suit her

 

Whitney Houston - Run to You: Pretty average Whitney ballad, it’s nice though. Sounds like a Christmas song… just like most of her other songs skjdgv

 

Toni Braxton - Un-Break My Heart: Solid, nostalgic-sounding ballad and might be the best so far but but the second half of this playlist is really strong so will slide down my ranks as I keep going… :(

 

Laufey - Let You Break My Heart Again: Sounds like a Disney score and I mean that in a good way! Love that sound and was really into stuff that sounded like it last year especially. Feel like you’ll be underrated but it’ll rank well with me!!

 

Tyler, the Creator - See You Again (ft. Kali Uchis): Alright but Kali’s parts are mixed weirdly and it feels long for three minutes. Seems like a filler here especially being right in the middle with all the excellent songs following it (though that wouldn’t affect my placement)

When I was a kid and first listened to the song I found the piano intro so scary lol but this is a classic and a very beautiful song! One of Avril best ballads and the ones that emotes best and also it’s very catchy… love how dramatic it is… you can see she was really inspired by some HAC hits of that time and executed it well… good choice!

Katy Perry - Never Really Over

I always found this song very good but that’s it… it’s a song that could have made by anyone and also I hate the pre chorus production + her vocals doesn’t sound that good on that part 

Justin Bieber - Ghost

Why her vocals sounds so low? The instrumental really outshines him and it’s so embarrassing lol don’t like this tbh. A very weird choice considering you would be panned with a Justin song when we are already on the top 16 of this production. You were going for trash not charts it seems

I like this to be honest… it’s good and I love the electronic additions that were added to pit edge on this song

Never liked Whitney that much… I mean it’s a classic ballad from its time but that’s all… i mean just like Mariah I prefer her bops or more upbeat songs because their ballads sounds dated and so ordinary besides having incredible voices… sorry

Katy Perry - Never Really Over: omg? I don't remember the chorus smashing that hard tbh!! kinda sad you didn't send TOTGA since that would've probably beaten When You're Gone for my #1 but honestly not mad at this, it's a very slay song 

Justin Bieber - Ghost: you're not for real... Bieber in these games is suicide :sob: wishing you an ounce of luck since this song isn't even THAT horrible, it's basic and uninteresting but I guess it's pretty harmless

Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart: this immense throwback... it's not the best Alicia song but it's certainly nice and it gives me a bit of nostalgia so good for you!

Whitney Houston - Run to You: ehhhhhhh I guess there's nothing bad about this, she sounds good as always but the song isn't really interesting to me at all, and it has nothing that makes it stand out

Yeah, this is very dreamy, a really nice discovery for this round.

 

Tyler, the Creator - See You Again (ft. Kali Uchis)
Didn't really enjoy it that much, it was just okay for me.

 

Frank Ocean - Thinkin Bout You
A modern-day classic, he really did that!

 

Ariana Grande - Thinking Bout You
Frank edged her out a bit here, but the song was still good regardless.

 

The Cranberries - Linger
It was nice, not my fave from them but still quite liked it.

 

fka Twigs - home with you
I've always loved this, always loved the switch-ups in this song. Very raw, very passionate.

 

Ravyn Lenae - Wish
I think this is one of my favorite songs this year, something about it is just really ethereal.

 

beabadoobee - See You Soon
Not gonna lie this took a while to grow on me but yeah, it's a very nice song.

 

Dua Lipa - Be the One
Kinda over this now but it was fine back then tho it was not really my fave from her.

 

Miley Cyrus - See You Again
Yeah, this is a childhood classic so we're ending on a good note.

This is a good song to listen to to get into your feels and be sad, cute choice  Vanessa Hudgens would have been better tho

 

Katy Perry - Never Really Over
Addictive chorus, I like to lipsync it and point to my mouth during the chorus and pretend like I'm on Drag Race (Vanessa Hudgens was a guest judge)

 

Justin Bieber - Ghost
I mean I don't hate this but modern era Justin just isn't the tea really, also Vanessa Hudgens Baby Come Back to Me says hi

 

Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart
This is a lovely song, Alicia sounds pretty, but it's kind of always been a little bland/boring to me, Baby V says hi again

 

Whitney Houston - Run to You
I love Whitney and her vocals but this is one I rarely listen to, it lacks some of the drama of her more memorable ballads, Vanessa Hudgens sends her regards

Tyler is so cute to me, sometimes he sounds like a goblin but a cute one. Kali is lovely as always (almost as lovely as Baby Come Back to Me by Vanessa Hudgens).

Such a pretty ethereal feeling song from Ari, it's so good

This is a true classic, one of my favorite 90s songs, gets me in my feels and hits my nostalgia button too

Another very lovely song, it's got her own special unique flavor, I'm not very familiar with this song but I feel like you're gonna do quite well with most people, but so would Baby Come Back to Me by Vanessa Hudgens.

Ravyn Lenae - Wish - i thought her album was nice and her voice is very magical. this is not my fave from the album but it's still beautiful.

beabadoobee - See You Soon - i loooove her voice, it's so pretty and cute. i wasn't the biggest fan of her new album overall (might need a re-listen) but this was one of the best songs on it <3

Dua Lipa - Be the One - overall i prefer the sound of the FN album, this is abit too UK'd for me but this song is cute. it's no Last Bible but it's fine.

Miley Cyrus - See You Again - a fun way to end off this playlist! a nice pop-rock bop. not exactly a favorite of mine by her but it's still nice.

When You’re Gone - I‘ve always been a big Pop-Rock person, but I haven’t actually dove into Avril’s discography. This is right up my alley.

 

Never Really Over - This is obviously a great song and it still sounds fresh. I will say, the source material is even better.

 

Ghost - You’re probably gonna get dragged by a lot of people, but not from me. Love this song. 

 

Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart - Excellent song. Obviously the outro doesnt really add much but otherwise a strong choice.

 

Run To You - I definitely get the appeal, but this isn’t one of my favorite Whitney songs. 

 

Un-Break My Heart - Never been super into Toni Braxton. There are definitely parts of this song I love, and I’m generally pro-ballad, but idk where this will fall for me.

 

Let You Break My Heart Again - This is cute in the sense that it’s nice background music or nice for a snrtimenral scene in a movie, but I definitely don’t remember how this songs

 

See You Again (Tyler) -  The production of this track is definitely very intriguing, and it’s always nice to hear Kali’s voice.

 

Thinkin Bout You - I know Frank has a lot of people in a chokehold, and he’s one of the few men ATRL will let succeed, but I’ve never cared about this song.

 

Thinking Bout You - This was, at one point, my most played song ever, so do with that what you may.

 

Linger - Beautiful song. 

 

 

Home With You - My favorite song off Magdalene. The climax is so powerful. Love this selection. 

 

Wish- This is cute and very sweet. It reminds me of something Nao would record.

 

See you soon - I haven’t done a deep dive into her stuff but I’ve liked every song I’ve heard from her - this included. 

 

Be The One - This is definitely in my top 3 from the project 

 

See You Again (Miley) - a good nostalgia bop
